IMS Relocation

DO NOT USE IMS! We are almost a month out from our move from Dallas to Phoenix and are still missing items that IMS has deemed non essential. I think this would be something we have a say in, but NO...apparently we have personal belongings that they DEEM (their word) as not essential or relevant to our move. IMS has literally no idea what is in our missing boxes and their own people packed them and let me tell you every box we opened had things in them that had no connection to each other.

Mike was great while trying to get our business. Talked me into letting him store our stuff because if we needed anything he would be happy to locate it and bring it to me. Once I actually needed something he wouldn't return phone calls and then when he finally did I had to go to his place and look through the boxes to find what I needed. He told me that the boxes labeled living room would be out and waiting for me.

Really disappointed! We used IMS to store and then move our belongings between Dallas and Austin. They did a reasonable job on the move but we did have some minor damage of some of our belongings. That's where the disappointment began. The company has been completely unresponsive in dealing with our very modest claim. Our move was completed in November of last year and our claim filed in February.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Their truck knocked down the line for my internet that was hanging across the street. I walked out and saw the movers working with the wire. I was only about 20 feet away from them, but they never acknowledged me. I thought they were trying to fix it, but they were just trying to get the line out of the way so they could leave.

While our overall experience was positive I was extremely disappointed in the response to our claim. I understand it is reasonable that some damage might occur during a move. That is why we bought the insurance, thinking it would cover our losses. Bottom line - the insurance is a waste of money if they don't even take your claim seriously. They covered 7% of our claim, after deducting the $900 we paid for insurance. To me that is not a good return on our trust in the company.

We used IMS to remove and return our furniture after we had our hardwood floors refinished. They damaged some of our furniture, door jams, baseboards and more. They tell me they want me to be made whole but refuse to respond to my emails over the past 18 plus months. We had our attorney send a certified letter to Mike Lohner (Owner) with no response. My attorney is now going to file against IMS this week. A reputable company would want to make good on the damages their employees caused.
