I set up an appointment with Jackson Pianos for a piano that was in dire need of tuning. I fully expected that it would be a two trip process, as it had been some time since the piano had been taken care of. The technician was pleasant and seemed very professional. Before the tuning began he noticed that one of my keys was making a strange ringing sound and he began to fix it. During the process of fixing it he actually broke part of the piano/string.
This is a very old review (we've only now in 2019 been able to access reviews to respond!...sorry, we know pianos, not computers!), so we can't speak to the particular conversations you say happened with us about your piano, Rachael, but we definitely don't run some sort of "scam" where we go out…
I received a tune up on October 30 and the person suggested a cleaning which involves some money down. We took advice and put some money down. November called back and left a voicemail and my email. It’s December 18 not a word from them. I called back today and talk to Louise and she said they were not able to get to anyone until mid to late February. I said it would have been nice if you would have sent an email back responding. She breathed very heavy on the phone like she was annoyed with me.
Absolutely wild. Three separate people saw myself and my partner come in. And not one said a word. One was literally sitting at her desk, door open and watching us… still said nothing. We made a loop and then left.
Hello, we are mostly a piano rebuilding company that sells very select restored pianos. We are more like a bookstore rather than a used car dealership. We don’t press or jump on people that come in.
Had an unfortunate experience at Jackson Pianos regarding the "sell back" benefit. Was disappointed in the communication and misleading information.

Jackson Pianos did an incredible job removing an old upright piano from our basement! The piano came with the house when we bought it, and it clearly was extremely heavy and in disrepair. Not only was Jackson Pianos immediately responsive when we reached out about scheduling a removal, but they also got us on their schedule quickly.
Thanks for the kind words. We do our very best to protect your pianos and homes when moving, even if the piano is going away to be recycled. Its hard work and we are bless with an amazing long term staff that has many years of moving experience and that's what allows us to do it so well.
I’ve relied on Jackson Piano for years and am never disappointed. The service they provide is exceptional, and is always delivered in a friendly and courteous manner. Their technicians are routinely on time, rare these days, and their communication is excellent. Whatever issue my piano might have, the tech is able to explain it in plain English. Estimates of repairs are typically provided on the spot. And they do an outstanding job of tidying up after completing their work.

Since I work here I can't say too much! I will say that this place is the place to go if you are looking to rent or buy a piano. All the pianos are used or refurbished but a lot of work goes into the cleaning of these pianos and the regulating work. There's integrity at this place where you won't find at other piano stores. There's no pressuring you into buying a piano, no selling of junk pianos, and customer satisfaction is #1 at this place. The owner Joe is an amazing Piano Technician and Refinisher.
Joe Jackson and his family are my mentors, dear friends and truly the heart of what makes St. Louis such a wonderful place. What he has been able to teach me as a musician is invaluable.
