Movers themselves were wonderful. They were careful, hard working, and kind throughout the process. However, everyone else on the team was incredibly challenging to work with. They were rude, short, and disrespectful (to us and the movers at times!). Moving from California to PA the packing crew threw everything into boxes without sorting or labeling it. Pieces needed to assemble the furniture included, and the unpacking crew couldn’t reassemble the items. Similar to what others have said, the majority of the packing crew seemed to be unaware of how to pack, label, and wrap items. A week later I’m still sorting though the boxes, which contain kitchen items, electronics, clothing, etc, in the same box, with arbitrary labels.

I hired JK Moving Services for a cross country move. The moving crew that showed up to deliver the furniture at my new home was different from the crew that performed the packing and loading at my old home. Other than one single red runner, placed at the entry door to the house, the delivery crew did not place any protection down to protect the home from damage to the floors, walls, stairs etc. When asked if they planned on doing so they said, "they did not need to as the furniture was all padded".

DO NOT PAY FOR THE UNPACKING SERVICE, YOU MAY GET THE VERY AGGRESSIVE PERSON THAT ACTED AS IF HE WAS GOING TO ATTACK US!! To start this off, Drew Richards came to visit me and although JK was a little more expensive than the other 2 I spoke with, but Drew seemed more informative. Everything leading up to the move was great, good communication and updates. The ladies that came to pack us where kind and had consideration for our belongings. The guys that packed up the truck were quick.

Worst moving experience I have ever had. JK Moving estimated my cross-country move from Virginia to California at approximately $6,200. Less than 24 hours before delivery, I was informed that the total charges would be nearly $12,600. I lived alone and did not have a large household. My shipment included a few heavier furniture items, such as two cabinets, a kitchen island, a couch, a mattress, and an indoor bike. Everything else consisted of normal personal belongings.

We had very high hopes for this company after initially scheduling our move, however, our kindness was quickly taken advantage of. The movers who delivered our items were extremely personable but upon them leaving we discovered that they had simply shoved all of our boxes into the garage instead of putting them into the rooms they were labeled for (these rooms were also shown to them and discussed during the morning walkthrough).

Attempted to schedule a move with JK Moving. Unfortunately they did not have the date I needed available. The person I spoke to proposed a future date and I explained that this was after my lease expired, therefore it was not an option for me. I was able to schedule another moving company, and moved on. However, I received repeated phone calls from JK moving about scheduling with them on alternate dates. The phone calls were sometimes in the same person and sometimes from different people.

I hired JK Moving for their Small Move Program (DC to Austin) which contractually included full pack, transportation, full unpack, and same-day debris removal: all for approximately $6,762 paid upfront. On delivery day the crew arrived and told me they were unaware unpacking was required. They didn't have enough staff, had another job scheduled, and left at least 9 boxes unpacked, dumped items on countertops and floors instead of organizing them as advertised, and didn't remove the debris as contracted.
