We first hired John Frank Moving Company in 2024 and had a very positive experience. Based on that, we did not seek quotes from other companies and chose them again for our move last week. Unfortunately, the experience this time was extremely disappointing. Three movers were assigned to the job, but the work progressed very slowly and was not completed thoroughly. Despite repeatedly asking them to pack several remaining items, they left behind nearly a truckload of belongings.
I had a very disappointing experience with this moving company. After the move, the movers forgot to give me important screws that were needed for my storage setup. Because of their mistake, I had already left Seattle but had to drive all the way back, which wasted around 3 hours of my time. What made the experience worse was how the situation was handled. Instead of taking full responsibility for forgetting the screws, the mover acted defensive and made it seem like I was the problem.
“5-Star Disaster – Highly Recommend If You Want a Treasure Hunt Experience!” If you’re tired of boring, predictable moves where all your stuff arrives intact and people actually finish the job—you need this moving company. They really spice things up! If you enjoy assembling your bed with sheer willpower, paying surprise fees, and finishing the job yourself while questioning your life choices—congratulations, your dream team awaits. Would I recommend them? Only to my worst enemy.
Hi Girubakaran, Thank you for sharing your experience. However, it seems there may have been a mix-up - we are John Frank Moving Company, based in Seattle, WA, and from what we can tell, your move took place in Charlotte, NC, which is handled by a completely separate Company.
Used these people for a move in Concord, Nc. I wasn’t satisfied with the move and I wrote a complaint to them on Thumbtack. I’ve tried reaching out to customer service, but they are not answering my calls or my messages on Thumbtack. These people are a scam.
Movers were very rude to staff at storage facility where they were moving a customers things. Argumentative and refusing to listen to staff directions when trying to get into and out of the gate.

John Frank Moving Company did a fantastic job moving our belongings from Lake Stevens to Redmond. Russell (Yerassyl) and Artur were punctual, very careful with our furniture and boxes, and worked effectively and efficiently with no damage. Dima (Dmitry) was also very professional and helpful on the phone from his office, and communication about logistics and parking restrictions was clear. Fair, honest pricing with no hidden fees or surprises.

I’ve always moved myself before but this time I decided I’m too old and broken to haul furniture around, so I needed movers. John Frank Moving had good reviews online so I gave them a shot. When the three movers showed up (well within the arrival window I was given I have to add) all they needed was a quick tour of the house and they got to work. The guys were definitely not acting like I was paying them by the hour.
*update* I was contacted by the company and they were very kind and asked what they could’ve done better and acknowledged my concerns. They expressed that they would better train their employees and especially the front office in providing appropriate quote times, especially regarding packing and unpacking. I explained to them my concerns, they understood and offered me compensation for the trouble. I appreciate the professionalism, and that perhaps there was a misunderstanding.

My move request was to move a 5 piece (2 large and heavy dressers (one with a large mirror), a headboard and 2 small side tables) from a 1st floor condo in Bellevue to a storage unit in Everett (35 miles). The 2 guys that showed up were fast, efficient and VERY careful with all the pieces, where they wrapped everything in plastic and then covered them in blankets.
