In their own words
Sadly this is the second and last appointment to move our piano that JP's has missed. We live in a high-rise downtown and so each time we have had an appointment it requires one of us to be at home from work and we have to reserve the cargo elevator with our building mgmt and so it isn't some simple thing. It takes time, energy and money. The first time they were supposed to pick up, they were over an hour late off of their own, multiple hour window.
We deeply apologize, again. The crew assigned to your move is our downriver crew and they do not come up to our office in Oxford, so we in the office were under the impression your move was being handled as planned.
Do not use, damaged my piano. The finish has been scrapped away towards the bottom of my upright. The piano was not wrapped in this area which would have prevented the issue. No effort was made to accept responsibility for the issue. Edit: They say they didn't do it, that's for you to decide, but know if there's a problem you'll likely be in my situation. Why would they ever own up to an issue if this is how they behave?
This piano went from Connecticut to Kentucky (via Keyboard Carriage) then to us on November 16th. The damage was there when this piano came off the semi truck from Kentucky. We did not damage from the 16th through delivery on the 19th of November.
Never write a bad review about a company, but this truly one of the most unprofessional interactions I have ever had to deal with. I got JP's number from a friend. I called last month and he said his name is Gary. Then I was scheduled to move the piano, but no one has come and no answer to my call. Therefore I go to website try to find another phone number. The receptionist answered and said I wasn't on their company's schedule list. I told her all about it.
Never have I had to write a bad review about a company, but this truly one of the most unprofessional interactions I have ever had to deal with. I run a flooring company and we refinished a hardwood floor and needed the piano moved back 2 weeks after we were done so the floor had time to cure. I lined up the appointment the last day of the job. Move from the garage to the living room, and refrigerator if possible. The first bid was 175. Called around an called back and their minimum had jumped to 200.
Let me say the guys who actually did the move were great the problem was the scheduling and tools. The day we choose to move was the end of our vacation so we were hoping for a late morning early afternoon time. We were told late morning then later told they would come between 930 and 10. I was very clear that time would mean we need to end our vacation a few hours early so to let us know if there are any changes. We left early to get home in time and at 10am still nothing.
We're sorry you were disappointed in any way Jeremy. As we have said to all our customers, every home is different, and every piano move is different, so we in Scheduling can only guess at time frames for every one ~ every day.
If you are considering to hire this piano moving company, I strongly recommend to read the following about my experience (all facts without any opinion): - JP piano moving is a very small business (one owner and 4 employees). We'd never heard of them and solely hired them at the recommendation of Steinway Piano Gallery as we had purchased our piano from the gallery. We needed to move our piano out of state as we were relocating.
Dear Hamed Emani, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with JP Piano Moving. We appreciate your feedback and would like to address the points you've raised. Firstly, we understand that the size of our business and your decision to hire us based on the recommendation of Steinway…
I am so disappointed and upset by our experience with this company. The person I spoke with on the phone was clearly annoyed by my questions and concerns and the movers were the least professional people I have ever encountered. They damaged part of our piano and threatened to toss it in the trash when we addressed the issue. They left without notice and the one mover loudly protested about his work. Extremely unpleasant and I dot no recommend.
We deeply apologize for your experience. You will not be charged for your move, and we will address your issues with our crew. This is not the normal behavior, as you can see by our ratings ~ but one bad move is one too many for our experienced company. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
-1 for yelling at my dad (he stopped the piano from falling), -1 for coming unprepared (wheel not inflated) -1 for delayed delivery (3 person job, but only had 2, so put off for a couple days).
We apologize for any misunderstanding on your family's piano move. ~~~~ We ask every customer when we book jobs about the number of steps at pickup & delivery. We were told about 10 steps for delivery, but it turned out to be 17 steps, which in bad weather (snow & rain) on Saturday meant 2 men…

Gary and Carlos were absolutely wonderful. They were so careful with the piano and very courteous. They arrived, and got the job done quickly and flawlessly. Highly recommend to anyone needing a piano moved. So thankful!

At the library where I work, the grand piano regularly gets moved on and off the stage for concerts. We have used JPs for several years now. Communication is always prompt and clear, invoicing is easy, and service is on-time. There also have been absolutely no issues for our piano, despite all of its literal ups and downs. Highly recommend them.
Thank you so much for your kind words and continued trust in our team. We truly appreciate the opportunity to work with you over the years and to assist with the care and handling of your grand piano.

They demonstrated incredible skill and attention to detail during the entire move, ensuring that my piano arrived at its destination in perfect condition. Thank you, we appreciate your business
Grant and Rich were awesome from JP Piano Movers. They had a huge baby grand to get in my house and they did it in a thorough, professional manner. I am not sure how they were able to get it in and set up with zero damage to the house or the piano!!! They answered all of my questions and you could truly sense they wanted to do the very best job for me that they could. I couldn't be happier with their service and would certainly recommend them to anyone that is looking to have a piano moved, they were fantastic!!!
Thank you, it was our pleasure !!
