In their own words
Damaged the stairwell, banister, and wall during the move of the home my partner and I were renting at the time. They refused to pay the repairs to the unique 1900s home claiming they "refused to make upgrades to the home". The owner of the home was forced to sue and won the money needed for the repairs. We were lucky that our landlord was flexible and patient during the whole process. It was such an ordeal.
Justin, we’re very sorry this move became such a stressful experience for you, your partner, and your landlord. Damage during a piano move is never the outcome anyone wants, especially in a unique older home.
Laursen used to tune my piano a decade ago so I had experience with them, and my most recent piano movers weren't available so I hired Laursen for a move last week. The guys showed up and said they couldn't move my piano because it had to be tipped on its keys - which I believe is a standard way to move a baby grand so it can get through doorways. I was left in the lurch and had to find another mover on the spot. Luckily my $50 deposit was refunded.
Thank you for your feedback. I’m very sorry for the stress and inconvenience this caused on moving day. That is not the experience we want any customer to have, especially during a time sensitive move.
The technician was very nice but something was clearly wrong with our piano when he left the same day he did the tuning. When I asked them to fix it they told me my piano just happened to break the same day they had done all of the work and they “were not going to fix it for free.” It took multiple emails and phone calls with the owner telling me multiple times they were not going to “do free work” which is not what I had asked for.
Unloading piano and carrying it into our house took around 5 hours. Completely ruined front steps ( concrete) and dropped piano on them several times. Wooden floors in the living room needed to be refinished from being scratched in multiple spots. It's like they never moved piano before. Also, didn't take responsibility for the damages caused. Terrible experience!

Austin did a great job of servicing my piano and explaining what needed to be done now and what could be done in the future on my 40 year old piano. He communicated his arrival time before the appointment and stayed until the job was done. Laursen has moved my piano twice and tuned it twice and each time they were efficient, careful and friendly. I highly recommend Laursen Piano Service!

I am SO happy with our experience with Laursen Piano Service. I needed to move my grandma's cherished piano to my sister's house, and I wanted professionals to do it properly and with care. I spoke with Gina about a quote and scheduling. She was GREAT to work with! Super friendly and fun to talk to. I'm pretty sure we're besties now. She asked thorough questions about the number of stairs, type of walkway, etc., so that she could give me an accurate quote without surprises.

Laursen moved our Steinway M grand piano from our old house into our new townhome. They were extremely diligent, careful, competent, and considerate through the entire project. We would definitely recommend their services and would call again for future piano moving needs. We ran into an unforeseen complication when moving the piano into our new home, and they were able to respond quickly and professionally, diagnose the issue, and complete the move within a couple of hours.
