Lippincott Van Lines Winsted, CT - ***STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY***I recommended your company many times since 2002 and used you twice. My sister moved & stored with you and ALL of her upholstered furniture was ruined by moving and storing with you and some of the wooden furniture is broken beyond repair. Worst disaster ever!!! My referrals stopped today. Now they’re warnings! I thought you were reputable, but you handled her move and the communications with her extremely poorly.
To the company, I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience deserves to be addressed. I showed up Friday morning to deliver a load and was told to come back Monday. That alone cost me my entire weekend. Then when I came back Monday morning, instead of being treated with basic respect, I was met with rude attitudes, kicked off the property, and my load was rejected. The guy at the front desk seemed more interested in proving he had authority than helping solve the problem.
The unit I rented was not properly sealed, which led to a severe rat infestation. As a result, my belongings were exposed to biohazards from rodent feces, urine, and blood. This caused extensive damage and contamination to nearly everything I had stored. I was using this unit during a move, so it contained essential items including my bed, couches, dresser, and more furniture pieces. Along with personal belongings like shoes, artwork, appliances, and even a baby car seat.
Although the three individuals who packed and loaded our possessions were very polite, they packed so poorly, we had damage to 27 of 111 (24%) of our items. As one example, they packed/boxed 15 boxes of paintings, pictures and prints, but they put 3-4 paintings, pictures and prints in each box playing card style with no individual wrapping or anything between them, so the eyelets and wires on the back of each frame badly scratched every frame behind it.
We were highly disappointed with our cross country move. They did not pack fragile items even if we requested it, and we had a lot of damages. They stacked several boxes on the side?! which makes the box structurally weak and many of them …

Eddie, Xavier, and Robert were an excellent crew. All were careful and took their time to unload furniture and boxes. Listened to our directions and placed things exactly where we wanted them, unlike other companies we have had. Great experience.
We recently moved and we’re lucky enough to have Luis, Jean, and Troy do all the heavy lifting! These three men could not have been better. They worked nonstop and with smiles. I would definitely have them move me again.
