They may be okay for local moves but not a move to another state. I moved from IL to FL. 4 guys moved me out (all 4 used the clean bathrooms several times) but only 1 drove the truck. Allegedly they had FL movers they had worked with before to do the move in. The only guy working was with MK. Most of my 4 year old furniture was marred and in some cases broken - it now looks like it was purchased from Goodwill and not Crate & Barrel.

Austin and his crew were 2 hours late because of “truck issues.” Ok, fine. But I had no communication until about 40 minutes after they were supposed to be there! I will give them this, they moved everything quick, everything arrived in one piece. Our couch didn’t fit in the living room but that wasn’t on them. We were so side tracked with the couch that our lawn mower was missed being loaded off the truck. I’ve texted, called with no response. AND we paid full price for their service. Don’t bother with these guys.

MK came to our house to provide us with an on-site moving estimate for a local move but then they never followed up with a quote even after I called and talked to them multiple times letting them know that I’m still waiting to receive the quote. If they can be so unprofessional and unresponsive prior to a move, you can only imagine how unprofessional and unresponsive they would be after a move in case you need to talk to them if there are any issues.

We used these movers for a local move that involved 6 weeks of storage as well. The PROS : Crew arrived on time and worked quickly to pack about 100 boxes. We packed 150 ourselves beforehand. All Crew members polite and respectful CONS We received an email with an inventory list of everything they supposedly put into storage. The list had only about half our items listed. My husband called the owner and eventually the inventory list was corrected. But it’s pretty scary to see half your belongings not inventoried.

MK movers "moved" items out of our basement earlier this year for a remodel. They messed up in so many ways. They were asked to move a fridge upstairs (we had no problem having it delivered downstairs). They got the fridge to the basement door and proceeded to bang it into the door and wall leaving the door full of marks and dings (see pic). This cost money to fix.

Hired MK for a third time. They were heavily staffed with college kids who we found were not sufficiently trained. They damaged three different pieces of wood furniture (two the only antiques we own) that were insufficiently wrapped and protected in our move. The team lead took photos when we pointed out the damage, and now it’s been 2.5 weeks with no response to phone calls or email for follow up on repair.

The person who came for the estimate was timely and very friendly. We called a few days later with follow up questions, and no one answered the phone and there was no option to leave a voicemail. We called again and same thing. We never received a follow up call from MK like we did from other moving companies we had estimates from. We decided to not move forward with them because their poor communication gave us a bad feeling about using them for a move which requires excellent communication and trust.

The one good interaction we had was with Abby. She was great throughout the whole process! Thank you Abby. However, the moving process and care of our items, for what we think was from their warehouse to our new home, caused numerous items to be damaged. They said they could pivot to adjust to a change in schedule, but it seems like the workers took offense to it and they just didn’t care. What started out really well ended in disappointment.
