Planes Moving & Storage Of Chicago

Very late update - Experienced in Nov 2022: Horrible, horrible experience in the end. The overall move was highly chaotic & dis-organized. Boxes were placed in house before furniture was brought in. Furniture was brought in & placed before large area rugs were laid. It was a hard move because new house is slightly smaller than previous one, & we had a lot of stuff. However, it would have gone more smoothly with an organized plan. Where do you put furniture if all the boxes are up against the walls??

Currently having an experience where Planes has failed every step of the way and we are still 5 days from moving. All of the information shared with us by our salesman was factually incorrect and misleading. Our relocation counselor, Jeanie, has stated to us that the salesman has been making statements and comments that are incorrect, yet instead of apologizing and resolving, puts both the additional costs and blame on us or others instead of taking responsibility.

Apparently we booked a load thru MEGACORP Logistics. TO move a shipment from you guys! Mega corp sent my driver tracking while he is at shipper. He was trying to make it work for 10 min. Broker calls and says My Customer ( SHIPPER ) doesn't want you guys to pick it up wants a different carrier. Not sure how true that is but Next time you guys move a shipment Get someone thats worth your time and SAVINGS!! Because of people like that you will destroy your rating.!!!

I chose them because I thought I would get more quality for my money even though they were the most expensive option. I regret choosing them. 1. They lost screws I needed for my desk that they took apart for the move and also broke 3 drawers when they were taking my dresser apart to carry it up the stairs to my apartment. They did not tell me about the dresser drawers, instead I found it myself when rebuilding it. 2.

Planes was one of our vendors at work (I'm in Operations) and they did a great job for us - which is why I hired them for my personal move from an apartment to a house. I knew they'd be pricey but, I thought, worth the money. They were not. I should have hired someone else. I had separated my boxes and furniture into 3 groups: basement, garage and upstairs bedroom. I told the crew lead and he said that was great. And then proceeded to completely disregard the information.

GET INSURANCE! The moving truck driver showed up with two teenage boys to move me out of my 2 Bd apartment. The driver complained about parking the truck, but refused a smaller shuttle truck when United offered one. I raised concern to the move coordinator about these boys not being able to properly, safely move me. I was told they were registered employees. The apartment was packed and ready to go. Those 3 "movers" took 10 hours to load the truck. TEN HOURS! for a 2 bedroom apartment!!!

Hired planes to move my belongings down state. Was qouted 6k for packing and moving of my whole house. Also requested a semi truck for the move as we have quite a bit of stuff. The day they were supposed to arrive to pack and load the truck, they sent only movers. They did not send anybody to pack the house for me and refused to fix their mistake when I called. The movers were only able to pack up 3/4 of the house into the small moving truck they sent.

Worst moving experience of my life. They were 2.5 hours late after my 2 hour time window. It took them almost 5 hours to load my 1 bedroom apartment. I especially loved the 25 minutes they spent sitting outside smoking and not working. 1 used my restroom at the end and when he was done he left the light on, closed the door, & left without saying a word. I had no idea he was no longer in there and wound up waiting around for another 45 minutes for no reason. I thought he had died!
