Yellow Truck Moving

What an absolutely miserable experience. I will start with I thought Kayla in the office initially was great. Her quote and follow up was great. Except the coordination and information I received was wrong and incomplete. First I planned for them to pack our items and load the truck the same day. I had a person come to my house and I showed them my furniture and told them all the breakables that need to be packed.

Our experience with Yellow Truck moving was largely positive until it came to them rectifying shortcomings during the move. We had an oversized sectional to try and move into a tight squeeze in the basement - I personally removed the banister and door and after only one attempt to move the couch around the basement corner, I was told that there was no way the couch would fit. We subsequently hired an upholstery company to disassemble the couch and reassemble it in the basement.

I used the moving service once and they did a good job. The second time was a no show. No answer to my phone calls or text the day of moving. I schedule the appointment a month in advance, sent reminder 2 weeks in advance and even one day before moving to confirm the time they will arrive. I went to the storage location with hopes that they would at least show up and they never did. I didn’t get a follow call or apology or anything.

Although Ike and 2 of the first movers were cool the service that was provided was not expected as intended to be. Ike said there will be wrapping to cover for all of our furniture there was none provided. None of the movers had wrapping to wrap our furniture, I even purchased furniture covers and wrap for the movers to wrap and cover around our furniture for our couches and mattresses they lost the cover wrap for our sectional and stored our sectional in the storage unit without any covering.

Do not hire! Yellow Truck purposefully moved at a snail’s pace to artificially lengthen the necessary time and exploit you for your money. It took THREE young men 2 1/2 hours to move out my furniture/belongings out of a one bedroom apartment where I lived alone! And 2 hours to move my things in. (Travel time between destinations have not been included.) I have moved many times, and this was by far the most expensive and the worst experience. I was promised 3 men, but only 2 men showed up. After I complained, they sent a 3rd mover halfway through the move, but my move took longer than it should have. Ike ultimately gave a very small discount, but I received estimates from other companies that were much cheaper for 2 men. When I paid Ike after the move, I politely asked for a breakdown of the pricing and I was given a hard time.

Called inquiring about a local move for a furniture item to be picked up from a retailer to my home. Was given a quote that was higher than I was hoping to pay. However, the person I spoke with requested that I text a photo of the time to be given a more accurate quote. Texted that person the photo and message. Never heard back.

Did not show up for the job. Called three times and left a voicemail. Got a call back an hour and a half late with an excuse. Was not apologetic for not showing up. Really left me in a bad spot that morning trying to move.
