DO NOT USE - If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They're cheap for a reason. To start, they showed up over 2 hours late on the day of the move. I get it, things happen. BUT, it did not stop there. They did not properly wrap my furniture (even though they had the materials to do so) which resulted in my white couch and multiple items being dirty/ruined, broke multiple items, and broke a light outside of my apartment, which I then was responsible for paying for.

I hate to write a negative review of anything or anybody I chose make a movers for the price the most inexpensive mover in Charleston to move me to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. They made a mistake the first day and they needed another truck that cost was not disclosed then the second day they came in the trailer that was not disclosed so they loaded the remaining merchandise that I had into a trailer and they were gonna move it into one of their own trailers and bring it tomorrow and the next day I didn’t…

So I want to start by saying this was the worst moving experience in my life(I’m 31) and we have always hired movers. But you guys failed us big time. First day(6/5/21) movers was 2 HOURS LATE. Very unprofessional. Also didn’t get a call about it until after a hour and 30 minutes passed. Okay then the movers took 4 hours(the took their time which was so bad because they were already 2 hours late. So yes 4 hours(10:43 am until about 3:15pm) to just pack our 3 bedroom apartment.

⭐ One Star – Completely Unreliable and Unprofessional I hired MAKO Moving Company for a local apartment move and experienced three straight days of no-shows, excuses, and broken promises. Saturday: Scheduled for 9:30 AM. They claimed a truck breakdown and kept delaying without ever showing up. Communication became inconsistent and unreliable. Sunday: Two movers arrived smelling of alcohol and appeared hung over.

The only reason this company is getting a 1 star review is because zero stars is not an option. This company is the absolute worst moving company we've ever used and we've moved 11 times, so have plenty of options to compare them to. It started with underestimating the costs, obviously in order to make them seem like a better option. Then they didn't bring enough boxed to pack everything up so a full room got moved by just throwing the items onto a truck.

Do not hire Mako Movers unless you hate all of your possessions and want to ensure that your move is as stressful as possible. They are unprofessional in every respect. They did not show up on time. Most of the time there were only one to two movers working out of five. They drank on the job. They set upholstered furniture down in the wet grass. They broke numerous pieces of furniture, some of them expensive antiques, and tried to cover up the damage.

We hired Mako to store our belongings that they moved out of our house in Mt Pleasant and then move the items to fort Myers months later. They arrived late on the day they were to pack and move items out and we had to leave before they were finished. They came back the next day and moved the remainder of the items out of the garage. Everything seemed to be okay until we had them move the items to Fort Myers. I was a little surprised that they moved everything from SC to FL in a long trailer and not a moving truck.

I hate leaving bad reviews, I don’t like sounding like a jerk but this company earned it in more ways than I thought possible. They managed to damage every single piece of furniture I own. They broke my brand new desk by trying to flip it sideways so they didn’t have to carry it. The leverage snapped the joint (I heard it crack, it was so loud, the photos are below) and now it’s wobbly and crooked. They also put it on a dolly with no padding or protection.
