In their own words
Writing this review nearly 7 months after we used Man in a Truck. I booked them for their rave reviews a few days in advance of a move of an event space I run. Wanting the move to go smoothly, I followed up with an itemized list of everything that needed to be moved. After I paid the deposit, the person I spoke to recommended I hire at least one, maybe two additional movers. I sent a message confirming I’d like to move forward with that plan. Our move day was Sunday.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We apologize for any miscommunication and any damage that occurred during your move. We take customer satisfaction very seriously and will use this feedback to improve our services.
Out of several groups hired in the past for domestic and international moves, this bunch was the laziest and rudest one of all. They were unable to keep on schedule and all of the individuals hardly worked. The team was unprepared with moving supplies and had no business taking and eating OUR FOOD. Terrible service, rude and sexist, the people who should have made our move pleasant have only burdened us with stress and frustration.
We used Man With A Truck Moving Company (MWAT) for our household move from Culver City to Hawthorne on 12/1/2017. While the moving crew was unpacking our goods at our new house, there was damage discovered to the screen of our 75 inch television that was purchased in January, 2017. The damage made the TV unusable. The moving crew admitted that the damage happened sometime during the course of the move, and the crew was apologetic about it.
Very disappointing experience with man with a truck. Packing process was mostly okay. Slow but seemed methodical packing our belongings into their truck. However moving into the new storage unit was a completely different story. Was not there to monitor and the job was extremely poorly done. Belongings are thrown everywhere, multiple things have been discovered as broken, zero regard for the individual item’s placement in the storage unit. A bunch of items seem like they were literally thrown in at the end.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Peter. We're glad our team was friendly, careful with your things, and worked quickly; we appreciate your business and look forward to helping again.
READ!!! I booked this company for a move and paid the $30 deposit. My confirmation listed the hourly rate, 3-hour minimum, and $60 travel fee, but nothing about a $165 cancellation fee. I canceled before the movers arrived, and the company even sent me a confirmation stating my move was “canceled — no charges.” The movers never came to my property. Afterward, I was told I owed a $165 “last-minute cancellation fee” and was sent an invoice for it.
Can't believe the absolute rip-off that this moving company was! They charged hourly, but they worked so slowly that it took them eight hours to move my one-bedroom apartment without any appliances, and then had the nerve to charge me a whopping almost $1200 for their service. They clearly had no sense of urgency and didn't care at all about getting the job done in a reasonable amount of time. It was like they were dragging out the move to squeeze as much money out of me as possible.
Hello Shih Thanks for the five-star review. We are so glad that you had a great experience with us. We appreciate your positive feedback! Please let us know what we can do for you in the future. Warm Regards The team at Man With A Truck Movers and Packers
Everything was already boxed up, all they had to do was wrap up some artwork in protective material. They did not even do that before loading it up into the truck. Not cheap, and they only sent 2 movers. You pay by the hour, and they work slowly. I had one room’s worth full of boxes, already completely packed, and it took them 5 hours (not including commute time)! You also pay for commute by the mile. So you pay for the commute twice, in terms of distance and in terms of time.
Unfortunately these are some of the rudest people I’ve had the pleasure of recently meeting. Attitude is everything, and based on today’s job these the attitude shown was terrible. The lead mover in particular was adversarial and inattentive; his lack of care and customer service, remarkable. The last thing I ever want is to leave a negative review for any business, but this guy’s reflection on this business is worth noting. Get your moving services elsewhere. . . .
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take customer satisfaction very seriously and we apologize for the behavior of our team member. We will address this issue immediately and ensure that it does not happen again in the future.

In their own words
Andrii and Alexey were amazing. They were professional, on time, and very efficient, yet careful. None of my things were so much as scratched. They took great care with my belongings while still getting it done in under three hours, and for a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend!
Thank you for your wonderful review, Lindsay! We’re thrilled to hear that Andrii and Alexey provided you with exceptional service. Your recommendations mean a lot to us, and we appreciate your kind words about our team. We look forward to assisting you again in the future!
Efficient, affordable, and professional. I was looking for a moving service to transport my belongings from a studio apartment on the third floor (up one flight of stairs) to my old apartment on the second floor (also up one flight of stairs). I researched several companies, but I didn't go with the first ones I contacted, as they were charging at least $1,000 USD because the distance was about 6.6 miles and the furniture wasn't particularly complex to move from San Gabriel to Monrovia.
We hired this company for our move recently. It was going pretty good until we got to the new home that we were moving into. The movers put down clothes so they wouldn't damage our carpet. However when they moved stuff into the kitchen area where the linoleum is they did not. While the were moving the refrigerator they accidentally tore the flooring in 3 spots. One of the gentlemen said he was sorry and could glue it back down.
I'm truly sorry, Shawna, for this unfortunate incident during your move. We really appreciate the time you took to provide us with this detailed feedback. I assure you that we will examine this case closely and find a proper and satisfactory resolution.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MWAT – Man With A Truck exceeded every expectation! From the very first call with customer service, the experience was smooth, professional, and reassuring. They stayed in touch the entire time and even gave me a 30-minute arrival window for the first location ,which they hit perfectly!Continued to keep in touch, driving to the final destination, giving me heads up when they were arriving. Victor and Kuka were absolutely outstanding. They were professional, efficient.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting us with your move! We are so glad to hear that we exceeded your expectations and provided a stress-free experience. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to working with you again in the future. Happy moving! -MWAT Team
