I recently hired McGuire to relocate us across the country. Although their customer service was excellent, the move was disastrous. A box with my most precious items never arrived (still lost months later) and 18 of our boxes were left in St. Louis for weeks. Upon arrival, the move crew was short one person and one of the movers decided to spend most of the day on the truck. It took nine hours and they were never able to get our beds properly put together.
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! Today one of these drivers didn't bother to lock their truck door and left it SWINGING OPEN into the other lane of traffic, ongoing, thru a turn and multiple drivers (who were about to be impacted by both the door and the items about to fall out of the back) waved them down. The assistant had to stop in the middle of the road to fix it! After calling the company, the receptionist put me on hold to have me talk to a dispatcher...
Prices lack transparency. We were told there was a fee for drop off to/pick up from the loading location and another fee for drop off to/pick up from the unloading location - so TWO fees. We even received the invoice to reflect this. Then, when it is time for them to come pick it up from the unloading location, we are told there is an ADDITIONAL fee for pick up. We also were not told that if we wanted them to help load or unload, there would be an additional fee for that, and it wasn't included.
Thanks for providing this feedback regarding our affordable, portable storage containers. Pricing for The Mobile Attic is so simple - a flat monthly storage fee and a pickup/delivery fee each time the container is moved.
Terrible experience with this company. The movers took much longer than expected (initial estimate was three hours, which turned into nine), they put heavy items on top of our television box (including a heavy toolbox), which led to it being crushed on one side, many other boxes were damaged because they were packed in incredibly high stacks with improper support, and many bins were broken because they were improperly packed.

I’ll start with the good – my stuff got moved and it was a decent amount of steps and a HUGE driveway. The bad – they damaged my dresser. Yes, they fixed it…but I was without a dresser for 11 days with no compensation to me with minimal apology and sub-par communication: • The moving crew leader didn’t seem apologetic about it; in fact he argued with me about where the dresser was originally located in the old house (as if I didn’t know where my dresser was) • I had to ask him what happens now/what the process is…

So, I got new neighbors a couple houses down from my home and they used McGuire moving and storage to move in. One of McGuires trucks hit a cable line and ripped siding from my house. This happened on Friday before Easter Sunday so I was out of town and when I came back Monday the line was up and my siding was still damaged. Tuesday I called McGuire and spoke to Josh McGuire.
I did not have a good experience with McGuire. I was willing to pay more for "white glove" service to make sure my property was packed and delivered safely. HOWEVER, I am missing at least 2 boxes with irreplaceable items. ALSO, I occurred damaged to several items including my video arcade machine which is not unusable. Josh is unwilling to take any responsibility citing their wonderful tracking process. Well, obviously it's not so wonderful.
Lynn, thanks for taking the time to write this, and for your business. We disagree, but appreciate the feedback nonetheless. In your emails to us, you claim we’ve “lost at least one box”.
Wanted to support a local family owned business as I always try to do so. However, maybe I got the wrong person. Think I talked with TJ or something like that and he was rude, in a hurry, and seemed to be laughing at what I thought were good questions. Its a shame because I wanted to utilize them but TJ made sure my business went elsewhere.

Bottom Line Up Front - Save yourself time and headache……Just schedule your move with McGuire. This is the second time that I have used McGuire to move my office and they just don’t disappoint. If you are looking for a company to trust with movers who care, PLEASE use McGuire. In the past have tried two other moving companies in the past who have made me wonder am I just a problem customer when it comes to moving??
