BAD EXPERIENCE - READ CAREFULLY I'll tell you about my experience in detail, and you can decide for yourself... First of all, it took a month to receive my belongings, starting from the pickup date. The company used the excuse that this was due to a delay in the forms, which were sent before the pickup. Furthermore, they NEVER mentioned that this could delay the delivery date. Yet, we clearly explained that we were in a hurry to receive our belongings. We spent two weeks in a new house without beds, dishes, etc.
Dear Ms. Bohbot, Unfortunately, shipments cannot cross the U.S. border without all the necessary customs documentation. The delay in obtaining your customs documents resulted in a delivery delay.
Worst moving experience of my life. Unprofessional and unreliable. Broken dishes, dented & chipped furniture, missing items, damaged trees (hit by truck)... Make sure to pay for the extra insurance, you will need it. And try getting some service after payment hahhahahaha
Used Meldrum to move about 240 pieces from Montreal to Calgary in December 2013. The salesman lied in saying that he would travel with the moving truck and deliver by December 10;. He did not. Goods were not received for another 12 days, forcing us to find alternative accommodation. I signed for receiving the number of pieces and it took us over two months to find that one of the pieces was marked for someone else in WINNIPEG whose stuff was delivered before ours.
From the time we first noted that this review was posted we have been attempting to reach Mr. Gomes to address his concerns. Unfortunately, the email address we have on file is no longer valid and the destination phone number we had is also been disconnected. If Mr.
Three months after moving, I'm still waiting for a response from them regarding the damage to my washing machine, bed frame, walls, stairs, etc. Very disappointing service. I'm a patient person and haven't yet contacted the Consumer Protection Office, but I'll have to soon. ———- January 28, 2020. I feel compelled to respond here to your reply below. No. The claim has not been closed at all. You only addressed the issue of the broken bed. The washing machine and the wall damage are still pending.
As we discussed, we sincerely apologize for the delay in resolving your claim. Unfortunately, because our claims manager retired around the time you submitted your claim, your file was not transferred to the new claims manager for timely processing.
Meldrum provided us with a terrible service. We moved overseas. Prior to our move their assessor came by to see how much furniture we had to move and later gave us a quote. We accepted this quote and signed a contract. Fast forward to moving day, we are informed that the size of our container is too small for the amount of furniture we have and we need to get a bigger sized container, which in turn was an extra 4000$! This all happened on the day we were moving!
This moving company is sincerely the worst business I've personally encountered. The movers showed up and started complaining as soon as I opened the door. They were unprepared to pack anything despite packing being included on my signed contract. They ended up breaking a costly television due to not using the proper packaging.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. The day before my move, I made sure to confirm the team's approximate arrival time so I could coordinate with other parties involved in moving my boxes. I was assured they would arrive between 7:45 and 8:15 a.m. On the day of the move, after several calls from me, the arrival time was constantly pushed back (11:00 a.m., then 1:00 p.m., then 2:00 p.m.), and the movers finally arrived at 3:00 p.m. At no point did Meldrum contact me to inform me of the situation or provide reliable information.
My wife had moved before with another company and she told me she would like to go with them. I told her to let me take care of the moving this time and I convinced her to go with Meldrum. Unfortunately for me it was a bad idea. The story might be long but if you have time I think you should read it. My wife and I packed everything for moving. Some of the items that in our judgement were more breakable we separated from the rest. One of those items was a glass top table.

I would highly recommend working with Meldrum The Mover. Booking was easy / helpful, pricing was great, and the move itself could not have gone better. Booking process: Obtaining a quote and booking the moving date was incredibly easy. This was especially appreciated as we were moving on short notice. As well, the virtual survey was great in getting an accurate estimate of the work and help give tips that made moving day that much smoother.

I recently had Meldrum The Mover help us with our move, and I've got to say, they were pretty awesome. Right from the get-go, their team was super responsive and got back to me quickly when I reached out. They even did a virtual tour of our place to give us an accurate quote, which was way better than the experience we had with another moving company we contacted. On the big moving day, both the packing and moving crews showed up on time, and they were not only efficient but also really friendly and polite.
Where does one begin? I guess with Kathleen who visited and provided us the guidance and the quote, and was always there for follow up calls and questions. Thanks Kathleen! When the big day arrived, the doorbell rang when the team arrived (on time) and within 4 minutes all three floors going up had mats rolled out on the stairs and hallway to protect the surfaces from boots, as this was a winter move.
We chose to go with Meldrum after receiving 3 written estimates. Although they were the highest estimate , it was only $50. from the closest competitor, and we felt that their reputation was worth he cost difference. WOW! Did we make the RIGHT decision! Being seniors (69 & 70) I don't need to say moving was BEYOND stressful! My husband has very limited mobility so this move was on me. By the time the team came to pack everything I was bordering on breakdown.
