I hired Metro Wide to move into a new unit in my complex this January. I'd like to start by saying I was initially very excited to use them. I had previously been robbed by my last movers who stole many electronics and was VERY weary about using another moving company. The day of my move was the day after we had an ice storm and it was very slick. They sent a 2 man crew which was fine.
SUPER rude owner and customer service. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU CAN! I was told if I didn’t confirm the move then it would be canceled automatically and I’m now being told that I will be charged the minimum anyway. TOTAL SCAM!
If I could give LESS than 1 star, I would. We have used this company twice in the last 18 months and the first time they moved us in 7 hours and it couldn't have gone any better. We were so impressed with the 3 man crew that we specifically requested them again for our second move. We were told that 2 of the 3 still worked there and would be sent to move us.
We previously used Metro Wide Movers four times for local moves and had excellent experiences, which is why we confidently chose them for our cross-country move. Unfortunately, this move was a tremendous disappointment. Multiple pieces of our furniture were damaged because many items were not properly wrapped or protected before loading. The crew did not handle our belongings with the level of care and conscientiousness we expected, especially for a long-distance move.

Disappointing experience. We hired them for a large move and many items weren’t moved. Treadmill, lawn mower, work bench, shelving units and many totes and boxed items from our storage room. Of course all of these items were part of the original bid so we ultimately ended up paying twice when we hired a competitor to come in and finish the job.
