I have a strong inclination to support small businesses, often making them my first choice. With this in mind, I came across Moda Moving after reading numerous positive reviews. However, my experience was far from satisfactory. Initially, I hired three movers, but only two arrived for the first two hours. The third member eventually appeared, spending 35 minutes in my master bedroom disassembling the TV mount, then took an extended break while the others continued working.
I would strongly suggest you avoid Moda Moving at all costs if you happen to be in the market for a long distance move. This was our third cross-country move and was not only the worst we have experienced in all respects it was a complete nightmare. We selected Moda over cheaper quotes for the promise of a hassle-free experience - what we received was the complete opposite.
Used Moda moving last month, quote was around $380 to move a small one bedroom studio. Ended up paying around $600.00 to complete the move. The move included a large sofa, queen bed, dresser, book shelf and some boxes. Not sure why I was charged an extra $200.00 for such a small apartment. Additionally a piece of furniture was damaged and dropped. The movers said to just take pictures and let the office know and it will be replaced. I did exactly that and that did not happen.

Beware this company is completely unethical. After booking they raised the rate when they arrived and then once we got to my new home raised the cost again and would not unload my belongings without paying in advance. In addition they forced me to sign the no damage waiver before they would unload my belongings. Absolute worst experience I've ever had with any company. I had to hire another service to come and move the boxes to the appropriate rooms out of the garage where they dump them.

At first, I thought they were going to be a good choice, but the move left us frustrated and items were damaged and we can't get them to follow through and resolve the issues with the damages. My husband collects bronzes and they are very dear to him. The salesman assured him they would be properly packed and moved without damage. They didn't pack them or move them safely. Three were damaged, one severely. We were told they would send two trucks and 4 men to start at 8am.
Unresponsive. Would call and get a date/time quote, ask to call back in less than an hour to confirm with others, and by the time you call back: "oh sorry that time is gone." Rinse, repeat... pass. Moving on (pun intended) to someone else. The "owner" is correct: I was never able to actually book a time so of course I would not "be in their system." As one may imagine, with a move, when offered potential dates and times, there is more than myself involved in scheduling.
So sorry! We do not have this person in our system. Sounds like they were calling for info and then were upset that we were full for the date they needed when they called back?
Look at their Yelp reviews as well, very different story there. SCAM ALERT Similar to others here, the quote and the actual cost for move are nowhere near one another. Every hidden fee appears on your bill, sometimes after you have authorized a total over the phone. It took 2 months to get a fully itemized receipt actually showing all the charges and all the additions are for time that wasn't included in the original quote (even though it should have and I even did an in-home visit to make it accurate) or were…
I cannot explain without crying how bad my moving experience with Moda Moving was. My best friend and her fiance recommended this company since they did their move (4 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom house) under $500. I was excited because I have a 3 bedroom apartment moving to a 3 bedroom townhome and 1 room I was going to do by myself because it was my foster room which was currently occupied. Quoted around $450 with (and it was written in an email) 3 complimentary wardrobe boxes. I was in.

If you are in need of a moving company, you do not need to look any further than Moda Moving. After an incredibly difficult experience with another moving company during our cross-state move, Moda Moving stepped in and turned what had become a nightmare into the best moving experience we have ever had. I worked with Travis to coordinate our move, and from the very beginning he was incredibly responsive, professional, kind, and solution-oriented.
I used Moda Moving on 1/14/21. The young men Vlad and Vann did an outstanding job. They were on time, professional, efficient, and worked together well. I researched moving options before choosing Moda and found the best value with them. Other companies make moving too complicated in an already stressful situation. Modal comes equipped with a truck, dollie, blankts, mattress bags, and movers. Other local companies require that the movee has to rent moving supplies.
We are having our wood floors refinished. I asked my floor folks for recommendations for a moving company that could come and help me because I’m currently using a walker after a hospital stay. The floor store didn’t stir me wrong. They said they use Moda. After meeting with Dan , Modas Rep, I knew I would be in good hands. First impressions do matter.
