Motivated Movers

The reviews are great but reality isn't so great. I used this company for a local move and really disappointed. The movers themselves were very friendly and professional, but after the move there were TONS of marks on door frames and walls from furniture knocking into it. They also caused damage to the banister of the house we moved out of. I called the office to ask about it after the move and the manager said that a report should have been filed and they would repair the damage.

I hired Motivated Movers to move my family from Quinton to Homewood. Big mistake. My wife and I are older, and have no one to help us, so we paid Motivated Movers to pack as well as move our things. The packers were extremely bad at their jobs and unprofessional. First of all the Manager assured us that the packing would take a total of four hours. It was a small two bedroom house, and we budgeted accordingly.

We used this company this past weekend for a move. We were not impressed with the 3 man team we hired and would not recommend the company to anyone that is moving. The move took almost 7 hours, and the crew spent about 2 of those hours inside the truck or on their phones. Several marks and scratches were left on the walls at both homes, and the guys seemed to move in slow motion. They definitely took their time, and on a job that is billed hourly, that is far from ideal.

I gave them one star because that's the only way they allow you to post. They should have negative stars. They sent 2 movers instead of the 3 I agreed to. It was apparently the first time one of them had ever moved a household. They were friendly, but EXTREMELY inefficient. I provided them with a printed list of what was to be moved and they STILL got it wrong. What kind of movers don't load the TV or microwave!?!? It took them all day to move a two bedroom apartment across the street!

I would highly recommend someone else! First off they took twice the time it took myself & my wife to move in & to move out of our previous & that current location. They were VERY relaxed in moving. My wife had two of her friends with her & they said the exact same thing. Also one of the movers got "smart" with my wife friend, I believe his name was chandler, chance or something like that. When I called to speak with management he was VERY RUDE! On top of that they don't really have "upper management".

My mother passed away and we had her 5 br gorgeous home filled with thousands of $ of antiques. They only had to drive to a storage unit 3 miles away. Much of our furniture was damaged. ALL of the furniture was thrown in there upside down. Couches on top of glass tables bed room suite on top of China cabinet all thrown in there up to the ceiling leaving numerous amounts of space they could have put more I rented the largest storage unit possible.

Unfortunately the 2 movers that were assigned to my move were simply not good at their jobs. They moved very slowly- it took them an absurdly long amount of time to move my furniture and to stack boxes into the truck. They seemed way too leisurely right from the start. It then started pouring rain once we got to the final destination. Instead of taking care of my things, they stacked boxes on the wet ground, making these boxes damp and ruining the items inside.

Worst move ever! I used these guys about 4 months ago and the move went great. So I moved with them again and this time it was a disaster. They damaged four pieces of furniture, one of which I asked the guy if he had damaged the piece and he said no. I heard him drop the mirror and when I checked on it a chunk of the mirror had broken off. I was told they would contact me the same day to get these pieces fixed and I still have yet to hear from them.
