Crocker Moving Services

I don't typically do this, but I feel that I have been treated so poorly by this company that a review is necessary. A few weeks ago, I had this company come move some furniture for me and take it to our storage unit. It was just me, so when they said they were done, I jumped in the car to take them to the unit because after all you are on the clock. After they got done, they asked for payment, a tip, and a review to help with their year end bonus.

My move started off smooth, the crew arrived promptly on time and greeting was professional. Day prior to my move there dispatcher called me to see if I wanted a 3rd mover for an additional fee and I told her no. They sent 3 movers anyway and after my second stop I get a phone call from there office stating they went ahead and sent an extra mover and explained the cost to me. I told him that was unprofessional and after I told there dispatcher no the previous day.

THIS COMPANY IS EXPENSIVE, SLOW AND NOT PUNCTUAL!!!!!!! In researching this company I heard nothing but sterling reviews about how affordable and quick they were. 2.5 HOURS LATE, TOOK 5 1/2 HOURS FOR A SIMPLE JOB WHILE BEING PAID BY THE HOUR, COMPANY IS NOT RESPONSIVE TO COMPLAINTS. Prepare to be shocked when you receive a massive bill like did for $700+ to move some items down the street. My mother- in-law was moving less than a mile down the street.

Awful. Zero stars. Estimate was so bad we paid double. Lost irreplaceable pieces of family heirloom bed. Broke multiple pieces of property, including what they were paid to pack, and never paid us back or took it off the bill. Do not use! Managers never tried to make any of it right, just badgered us for a payment during stressful move.

We moved June 2022 from Bham to Atl. Getting the initial quote was fast and easy and in line with others. Front end of customer service was very good. Actual move experience from Bham experience was just ok. Few dings and weird packing of stuff, only one sentimental item broken. Three of the staff sent home for performance by the foreman.

I would have been glad to give this company a very high rating if it was just for the move. They did a great job, showed up on time and worked very hard that day. The reason for my 1 star is what happened after the move. During the move one of the movers walked in the new yard which was wet and got mud on his shoes. Instead of removing his shoes, he tracked mud into the new house and onto the new carpet. I was assured that Mr. Crocker was a stand up guy and it would be taken care of.

AVOID this moving company at all costs, or it will cost you more money later trying to fix or replace the damaged furniture! On top of being short a mover and sending us a smaller moving truck than was initially agreed upon and argued about it until we physically measured the truck for proof, we had multiple items damaged. The more we unpack and get settled in the more damage we keep finding to all of our furniture, small, large, heavy duty it doesn’t matter.

BEWARE - highly unorganized and shady in their business practices. I was charged over $100 for drive time after services were provided, though that was *never* discussed or disclosed to me. In addition, the team that was sent arrived nearly 3 hours late, one employee short and had already done a full day of work- so the two that did come were exhausted (understandable!).
