Motivated Movers

I have waited on doing the review because I gave the manager at this location time to resolve my issues. However, I do believe they either gave me a wrong number to text or have just been ignoring the images of all the damage they told me to send. I went with this company because they said I would be covered if anything was damaged: that is simply not the case. They can’t cover my damages if they won’t answer my phone calls and text messages.

0/5 stars - Avoid this moving company. We booked them for a move for May 31st, but they called 10 days prior to move day to change the date due to losing a driver. I was moving from Florida to Alabama, rented a U-Haul with some of my belongings and they were going to move belongings from my storage unit in Alabama, along with the U-Haul I had, into my new residence. After some back-and-forth, they agreed to move me on May 25th between 8-9:30 am.

Initially I was pleased with this company... I paid for two guys and got the third for free. They charged by the 1/4 hour (15 min) after their round-trip gas fee and I would not pay for time that I didn’t need. I had a 10x15 foot storage room filled with expertly packed boxes, (4) 4-stacked totes on movers dollies, a workbench on wheels, an upright deep freezer on wheels, a grill on wheels, a 2-pc bookshelf on wheels, an armoire on wheels, a patio umbrella, and a kids ride on car.

DO NOT USE this company! Please seek a different moving service. The movers are dishonest and cannot be trusted. On November 19, 2019, two of the movers stole over $800 worth of shoes from my storage unit during the move. I did not discover the issue until I booked the service again and the movers discovered empty boxes. I tipped and provided food and water to the movers and was still left with the treatment of stolen products from my storage unit.

My move was on Thursday June 29, 2022 . At first I thought everything was going to go smooth they call to inform me they were in route , and they got the in a timely manner. When they first walked in they were very professional by introducing themselves asking for a walk through of the items they had to take away. Then the problems came they didn’t have the proper tools to remove my bedding furniture at this point I am thinking my time has started.

My experience with motivated movers was the worst service experience I have ever endured. I booked on the site and got a quote about three weeks ago. I booked for four hours for 150 an hour. Two young men showed up to do the job. One of the guys introduced himself and surveyed what I had to be moved. The other guy didn’t introduce himself or even speak. He had an attitude like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed time he arrived at my apartment. I should have cancelled the service but they had already started.

First let me say that this was my 2nd time using Motivated Movers. I first used them last year for my move & they did an exceptional job. They were on time, friendly & efficient. Also my belongings were well taken care of. This is why I opted to use them again this year for my move into my first home purchase. I will say that they were on time & friendly. However, my belongings were damaged & I believe that was due to the lack of care when loading it.

I recommend against Motivated Movers. They decided that day to not move some of our stuff, which totally left us in a lurch. We recently moved locally in Prattville, AL. We had two pieces of exercise equipment (treadmill and weight machine) to move along with all of our other belongings. We scheduled the movers a month in advance, and told the booking agent on the phone we had this equipment. No red flags were raised by them then. When the crew arrived and walked the house, no red flags were raised.
