In their own words
We used this firm to move from Austin to another city.. They were hired to pack, move and deliver to a city about 35 miles away. It required about five days offsite storage. On the day of packing, the packers made it very clear that they expected cash tips. The packers were personable and efficient. However, at the end of the process, I gave them a cash tip and it was made very clear that they thought the amount was insufficient. One packer remarked as they left “I’ll never come back here again”.
We’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. It’s good to know the packing crew was personable and efficient, but concerns about tipping expectations and how the rest of the move was handled are not what we want for our customers.
We used Mountain Movers for our move from Austin to Dallas. Because our belongings were stored for several weeks, our relocation involved two separate moves. The crew worked hard and successfully completed the move, but the overall experience was disappointing. After unpacking, we discovered several issues, including a dented refrigerator, missing bookcase brackets, a damaged desk that could not be reassembled, and a moving box that had been broken and taped back together without anyone informing us.

Unfortunately my experience with them was extremely negative. I hired them from Thumbtack, my usual go to company Einstein was unavailable so I messaged them on Thumbtack, the owner answered in minutes. I spoke to owner Jason over the phone next day to confirm everything and discuss any heavy furniture. I mentioned to him that I would like my furniture to be cling wrapped, the couch is heavy and there are many stairs to go through. He answered "Only white couches need the cling wrap so they don't get dirty".

I booked with Mountain Movers on short notice, and while the setup with Rebecca in the office was smooth, everything afterward was extremely disappointing. Red flags started early: I was never given a clear arrival window, only told they had another move before mine. When they arrived, there were only two movers despite me clearly stating I had heavy furniture (bed, sofa, washer/dryer). Midway, they decided to bring in a third mover—something I was told “wouldn’t cost extra” but ultimately added $200 to my bill.

Beware - under quote and under deliver! Job quoted at ~$500 and came out to ~$950. Reached out and told the owner Jason I was price sensitive at the beginning of the call. Owner told me to make sure we were ready for the movers so we packed our home. Had a quote that worked for us so we went forward. I had given them all information available (building sizes, number of floors, amount of items) and prepared as instructed (fully packed unit). Answered all questions ask so they could give me an accurate quote.

When they first arrived one of guys said someone didn’t show up for this job and the other guy with him was inexperienced and he kept telling the inexperienced guy what to do This was my first time using Mountain movers referred by someone I had 2 dressers 6 glass coffee tables, one small flat screen TV, 4 bar stools one king head board and boxes… no living room furniture no bedrooms furniture no dinette set to move and these people deliberately took 2 hours to unload the truck and 2 hours to load a truck and had…

Mountain Movers has been excellent! They helped us move twice. First, out of our 4 bedroom house to a storage unit, then into our new 4 bedroom home. Both times the team was professional, punctual, communicative and friendly. They were efficient in getting the trucks loaded and were careful with all of our belongings. When we moved into the new house, they were careful not to damage walls and great at placing all the boxes/furniture in the appropriate rooms.

I had never hired movers before but because I really needed it this time I started searching on google for movers near me and Mountain Movers showed up along with others. Called them third but had the best conversation out of the three I called. I spoke directly with the owner Jason and he gave me a great price and most importantly they were available during the time slot I needed which was crucial.

Booked with Jason. Extremely helpful and patient going over the details. Nailed the estimate and kept my expectations grounded. Got a three person crew for a Saturday morning move. Jeremy, Javier, and Rick showed up on time and ready to absolutely crush it. Courteous and professional. Took great care to pad and pack all the large items. Worked great together. These guys worked hard. It was 105 degrees, felt like 115 due to humidity. Didn't even stop to take a break.
