I would not recommend moving company based on my experience. The packing was rushed and done poorly, which left me very disappointed with the quality of the move. Before the move, Barry told me the crew would remove and dispose of any furniture we didn’t want at no additional charge. However, when the crew arrived, they initially refused to take the unwanted items and later tried to charge me for those unwanted items. What made the experience even worse was the customer service.

I used Moving By Marcus to move apartments in April. Overall, the move itself went well, and communication leading up to the move was solid. Unfortunately, my experience after the move was very disappointing. During the move, one of the movers broke the glass door to the lobby of my apartment building. Accidents happen, and I wasn’t upset about that. The mover was honest with me about what happened. What concerned me was the company’s response.

Second time using this company and they have gone downhill. I had set an appointment to get a quote which I was stood up for. Upon rescheduling and confirming I'd use their service, I had to reach out to find out when they were coming. Good thing I did becasue it was less than 24 hours later. When movers arrived they didnt bring tools even though I was assured they would be able to deconstruct and reconstruct my bed frame. Also, I had put my cats in my bathroom during the move so they were safe.

I recently used Moving by Marcus to move from Bloomington to Peoria. I had one of their staff members come a couple weeks before my move to give me an estimate. He estimated that my move would only take 2 workers & would cost anywhere between $400-$600. He assured me multiple times that $600 was a generous overestimation but he wanted me to be prepared for that amount. You can imagine my surprise when on moving day they sent 3 workers and charged me $1000.

showed up without calling with eta, only texting / knocking on door. walked in said "we can't move because there's things on table (we had just woken up from their knocking) wife started to push things into boxes while i used bathroom and put on clothes, then they canceled because she was "aggressive" misogyny? homophobia? who knows. but who cancels on a move within a few minutes like that. don't be lured in by their friendly demeanor.

As a back up response to Emily E. post, the movers picked up a sleeper sofa from our home (her parents) to take to her new home. When asked if the sofa was on the main floor I told them it was not, it was on the lower level and got a “sigh” from one of the movers. Very unprofessional! I noticed that the stairway ceiling had a dent in it after they left with the sofa. My daughter also has a dent in her wall complimentary this company. This business owner needs to hire responsible people.

Not professional or responsible. They broke our sofa and large flat screen TV in our move. They took our work order over the phone and failed to disclose their no-insurance policy or anything else for that matter. Just took our money and broke our valuables and won’t stand by anything.

Every thing about this company is garbage. My wife and I had them move us due to no time away from work. First off they took maybe MAYBE half of our belongings to the new house left the rest. Destroyed one of our bookshelves only after …
