Moving Day Inc

Movers showed up 4 hours late for my move from Colorado Springs to Denver. They complained incessantly, took long and frequent breaks and I was charged for 10 hours worth of work that included a very long dinner break. This 10 hour time was 3 over my quote. Also, I had asked the team to move some furniture out of the apartment and down to near the dumpster in my apartment complex. This is a frequent occurrence at my last apartment and furniture is claimed quickly. The driver agreed.

I don’t recommend this company. The owner is extremely unprofessional. I hired his company for a residential move from one house to another. While moving my sectional into the basement, they hit the corner of the bar and knocked the tile off. The movers took pictures and assured me it would be repaired. 10 days went by and I had to call the owner. He had an attitude right off the bat . He told me if they would have done a better job making the bar the damage should not have happened.

I would not let these guys move trash for me ever again. First they bid the job site unseen, even after being told we have a lot of stuff. I have to go rent another truck because they say they can’t get it all in. We told them we were on tight time tables and they were about 6 hours late to get things done even after we helped load. Then yes we had to wait a couple hours until we could get into the new house ,(because they couldn’t meet the times they agreed too).

Unreliable. My wife booked for Monday. Needed to move items between 10 AM and 5 PM. They said they could if we would be flexible as to what time they would show up. She agreed as long as the move would be done. She was there at 10 AM. Started calling around 2pm to see when they would show up. Said he check and call back. Didn't. Called again. Said they weren't picking up the phone but should be there soon. More calls and finally told her they wouldn't be able to make it but could be there Tuesday at 10 AM.

We hired moving day to move our home. They gave us a friday afternoon slot. Friday morning around 1130 am the owner called us and told us someone quit and they may not be able to get to us they would let us know . Well, my husband took time off for this move. We had our bed packed. Everything. I understand things are not always easy and I appreciated the heads up but that didn't help our situation. I called around 230 and asked if they knew what was going on.

To start with we used Moving Day in 2002 when we moved from Colorado to Texas and they were the best. Items were loaded and unloaded with care and the employees were very courteous and professional. They moved us back to Colorado in 2004 and we had the same wonderful service. Fast forward to 2022, I called because we were again moving from Colorado to Texas. I told the administration and also talked to John, that I wanted somebody to come and pack up anything that I couldn't get done.

Never again will I use such an incompetent company. The first time, the guys wouldn't take apart the treadmill to move it and left it behind. They also took off the doors to the refrigerator and when the fridge got to the new house the guys refused to put them back on. A year later, I needed the same refrigerator and a stove swapped from one house to another. I was told they would be quick and put the doors back on.

Owner told me one thing when we first talked about the job and then as the move progressed he started changing how things were going to go. His crew did not all show up when they were supposed to. They didn’t load the truck full. It was across the state and that night he started demanding the job to be paid then not at the drop off point as agreed on. Then went on to threaten to lock the truck if it wasn’t paid when and how he wanted.
