DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY This service is a hair’s breadth from a scam, using this company will cost you their fee, the cost of hiring a real moving company to do the job they were supposed to do, and the cost of repairing the damage they do to your home and belongings. We hired Moving Fellows for a simple move that involved unloading a Uhaul truck with well packed boxes and some heavy, expensive furniture. We fully disclosed the nature of the items to be moved including their approximate weight as requested.

Not only are they horribly inefficient and unprofessional movers, a read of reviews illustrate consistent unscrupulous/possibly fraudulent practices: bait and switch estimates (you WILL be charged 2x-3x estimate); either no response or offering pennies on the dollar for damage Claims; running charges against your card without authorization or invoicing process. **SCAM COMPANY** They offered me $100 to take down my negative review after overcharging me by $300 due to their negligence and unexperienced workers. they will inaccurately quote you and charge you more as you go from the beginning all the way to the end due to hidden "steps" fees. The paperwork upon arrival has hidden charges as well. two men showed up- one young and professional, one older who had no hustle and was on his phone to his girlfriend in Florida.

WILL QUOTE YOU AT A LOWER RATE THEN BILL YOU ALMOST DOUBLE WHAT YOU AGREED TO The movers were mostly fine. The process of the move went pretty smoothly. I did help to move things along, but that’s mostly on my own free will. However, afterwards is where it gets messy. I was quoted at about 500$ for 2 movers. We had a sofa, a bed, some kitchen stuff and boxes of clothes to move. The movers clocked me at 3.1 hours and said I would get charged for 3 hours which would have actually been UNDER the quote.

I unfortunately had a poor experience with Moving Fellows last weekend. To start with the good, the movers showed up on-time and moved everything in the home in swift and professional manner. Nothing showed up damaged and we gave the movers a big tip for a job well done. However, accounting mistook the move to take 14 hours when instead it took 2 and attempted to charge my credit card a vast amount. When my credit card blocked the charge, Moving Fellows called to asked for immediate payment.

This was absolutely the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. I’m not normally a person to write negative reviews but because of how horrible I was treated I feel it’s absolutely necessary. I booked my move a week in advance. I was called and emailed twice to confirm my move. Less than 24 hours before my scheduled move I was called and told they needed to reschedule. It was late in the day and no other moving company was open.

Moving Fellows was okay... I guess. One of the movers was allergic to cats and wasnt able to touch my cat tree, and although I dont blame him, it was an oversight that cost me money as it took more time to get that figured out than it should have. The home office should have scheduled someone without issues with cats as I let them know about the cats when I booked. I also had a terrible time contacting them when I needed to reschedule.

Update: unfortunately this company is not what it was 3 years ago when we used them. My parents hired them not too long ago and they destroyed multiple pieces of furniture, scratched up the walls of their brand new house, and even damaged their new door. Thousands in furniture damage alone and then they had the audacity to charge them DOUBLE what they were quoted. They offered something like $200 back for the thousands in damage. DO NOT USE THEM.
