In their own words
NVL moved me from the Bay Area to Colorado. They were about 50% more than any other mover quoted me, but I was encouraged by, among other things, their commitment to quality work and prompt resolution of claims. Ha! I grossly overpaid and they refuse to make good on the items they broke or lost. They delivered +/- 60 boxes to my apartment. Other than setting up the furniture, they did not unpack any boxes. Over the next couple of weeks, I unpacked all 60 boxes.
A nightmare experience. They were the most expensive quote I received and unfortunately I did NOT receive the service I was promised. The driver was extremely unprofessional with several hours of delays on both pick-up and delivery dates with ZERO communication. The movers caused close to $1000 in damage to my furniture after they had me pay for full-coverage insurance and now refuse to take responsibility for the damage.
We're so sorry to hear of your moving troubles! We'd like to get to the bottom of this. Please send us a message with your name and B/L number so we can look into this.
Completely disappointed. I was connected with National Van Lines because the local mover in Virginia was a contractor with National Van Lines and my furniture in storage needed to be moved to Colorado. The furniture was picked up from storage and arrived in Colorado as scheduled. However, I came to learn that the long distance driver is a subcontractor of National Van Lines and the driver hired his own movers to help move the furnishings off the truck.
We genuinely apologize for the challenges you faced during your move with National Van Lines. Your feedback is essential to us, and we're sorry to hear about the unfortunate incidents and damages you encountered. Regarding the claim, we regret any confusion about the coverage and the settlement.
If we could give 0 stars, we would. We should have worked with literally anybody else. We mistakenly decided to work with National Van Lines for our move from Arizona to New York. They picked up our things on April 29th, and the contract we signed stated delivery would be between May 3rd and May 16th. A few days prior to May 16th, we received a call letting us know our things were delayed, and the delivery date was changed to May 28th.
Allison, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent moving experience. We deeply regret that your experience with our moving services did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
I have used All Around moving twice. The first time was great, a local move. The second move was out of state and it was terrible. It started with poor communication. I could not get my rep Logan to answer my calls, and all of my items were missing for weeks and no one would tell me where it was. After just over 3 weeks, the semi finally showed up. Things were damaged, and lost or stolen. Yes the movers packed for us.
Hi Michelle, we take concerns like this seriously and want to provide some clarification. The reported damage items were reviewed and addressed through the claims process, including coordination with a repair firm.
National Van Lines has been an absolute nightmare! They have continuously fed us a stream of lies, testing our patience to the breaking point. The sales agent, Blake, made multiple promises about a smooth move, quality materials, and professional movers from National Van Lines. But let me tell you, our experience has been nothing short of a living hell for my family and me. We had a virtual video tour with Blake, who estimated the weight of our belongings based on that.
National Van Lines Moving company damaged 6 pieces of furniture. We took out 70k of full replacement insurance. Settlement offered was approximately $2600. No offer of full replacement. Furniture was custom. Adjuster stated that it could be repaired, but would never be the same. Stated missing items were not reported at delivery and could not be substantiated. How can you report items when boxes are sealed? The movers were very polite but in a rush.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We understand how frustrating and disappointing it can be when expectations aren't met. After working with you through the claims process, we did issue a settlement based on the terms of the protection plan selected. We also reissued your check.
Updated from 4/20 review on BBB. BEWARE: BEWARE: Unless your items are packed by National Van lines they will not honor any insurance claims. NONE! As stated in my initial review there was one box that was improperly handled by not following the directional arrows and the do not stack on top of directions. The item is a piece of expensive electronic Amateur Radio Equipment worth over $7,000.00 which was packed in the original factory box by me.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

Seamless Cross-Country Move with National Van Lines! Moving cross-country from the PNW to Arizona felt incredibly daunting, but choosing National Van Lines was the best decision we made. From the very first interaction to the final box delivery, their professionalism, communication, and execution were absolutely top-tier. Exceptional Quoting and Planning The process started off perfectly with the quoting experience. Our initial sales representative, Stephanie, was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly thorough.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re pleased to hear your cross-country move went smoothly and that our team’s communication, planning, and execution helped make the process feel manageable from start to finish.
I am writing to recommend using National Van Lines for your cross country move. I recently moved office furniture from Dallas to Denver. Brian Santostefano made the process easy and efficient. He offered a very reasonable price based on a Facetime estimate and then helped shepherd the move from estimate to delivery. Brian always either answered his phone or returned VM messages promptly (as did other members of the team). He accommodated my changes without any problems.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re so glad Brian and our team were able to make your move from Dallas to Denver smooth and efficient. It’s wonderful to hear that the communication, flexibility, and care for your furniture stood out.
We had an outstanding experience with National Van Lines during our holiday move from Ohio to Tennessee. Robert and his team were exceptional—they arrived promptly and efficiently loaded everything, getting us out of the cold northern weather and into the warmer south in no time. From the very beginning, the process with National Van Lines was seamless and professional. Stephanie G. guided me every step of the way, thoroughly explaining the details and ensuring accurate measurements for our belongings.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for choosing National Van Lines for your holiday move. We’re pleased to hear the process felt seamless from planning through delivery and that the team helped make a winter relocation more manageable.
The Logistics/Organizing: I needed to move items from a studio apartment in the midwest to the east coast. I had a queen sized bed, some shelves, a couch, an arm chair, and about 20 boxes of various sizes. I worked primarily with Joe Kim, who was fabulous from my quote through delivery of items. Joe was extraordinarily knowledgeable, quick to respond to emails, and checked in with me at logical points as I progressed from a quote, to moving day, to the date of delivery of my boxes and furniture.
Lina, Thank you for your glowing review! We're delighted to hear that our team provided you with an excellent moving experience. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we appreciate your trust in us for your cross-country move.
