First of all, I wouldn’t typically post something like this, but initially when I rented a storage unit from them (then Blue Sky) I was told that the monthly rent would not go up and if it did, it would be quite some time in the future. Well, within just a few months my unit went from $189?? to I believe it was $215 then again in a few months to $237 after the new owners (Frontier) took over. My girlfriend rented the same size unit as mine right next to my unit. She was paying a different price than me.
We are sorry to hear about the pricing changes and air conditioning problems. We understand rent raises are a frustrating part of storing. We do what we can to keep them as infrequent and reasonable as possible, but we are always open to … More
Don't use this company. These new buildings leak water. Ruined my oriental rug, sofa and bed mattress. They had mold and mildew on them. My homeowners insurance that I paid every month wouldn't pay because they couldn't find out where the water had come in though they agreed water had come in some how! Blue Sky Self Storage wouldn't pay because they didn't care it was negligence on their part. They put my rug in the dumpster before any insurance adjuster could evaluate the problem.
We reserved a uhaul there and when we went to pick it up there was not one available. We did not receive a phone call the day before or prior to arrival. The worker was not the least bit helpful in trying to resolve the issued and was just messing on his computer. 0/10 would not recommend.

This is a very nice, well maintained storage facility. I leased a 10x10 for a couple of years. WARNING: my rates were raised significantly, multiple times resulting in me moving out. I was paying more than a space in northern Illinois and everything costs more here. WARNING 2: move out on the last possible day of your paid month. They don't prorate even with 10 plus days notice. That's my biggest complaint. Staff is pleasant and generally responsive.
Discounted price plus 1st month free promo sold me! Secure, digital gate access helped make up for not providing a lock on the unit. The unit itself was cleaner than any I've ever rented. Renting online was super easy and the in person customer service was phenomenal! The employee at the front (I think his name was Jerry) made a great personal connection, which I highly value in a company thats guarding my things! :) very friendly.
