Next Stop Moving & Storage

So let me just start off by saying they will lie to you the entire way through. The person I spoke to stated he was the owner of the company and that it was his people and his trucks moving everything from start to finish. Mind you ask specifically because I know a lot of people are just contractors that will hire other moving companies to do that. He assured me that was not the case.

This company is a SCAM!!!! Allan Moore refuses to call or email me back to explain why my quoted price went from $6,400 to over $11,000! The price of the fees (i.e stair charges) doubled in price as well. I have less stuff now than I did when we did the original quote, but somehow the price is almost double?! I will be filing complaints with the DOT and BBB over these tactics. Allan promised Next Stop was different and this wouldn't happen, but here we are.

They are definitely a bait and switch company. First they asked for a description of the items being moved. Gave a quote for 650cu ft. Then asked for pictures, moved up to 900 cu ft. No problem, we had some bulkier items. We lock in at that amount. Then, when the driver gets there, he sends the same pictures and they come back with 1200 cu ft. So the price jumps by 2000 dollars.

Warning: Avoid This Moving Company at All Costs This company caused me severe stress, financial loss, and damage to nearly everything I own. What should have been a routine move turned into a nightmare. I was quoted a price, but then told it might increase after an in-person review. So I scheduled a FaceTime walkthrough and showed them exactly what I was moving. After that, they added $1,800 to the original quote. Communication was a disaster. There was no reliable phone number to call.

We booked Next Stop Moving for a cross-state move but decided to cancel within their contractual 72-hour cancellation window after reading concerning reviews. We followed their process and submitted the cancellation request on time — but heard nothing back. It turns out their internal employee responsible for handling cancellations was “out of town,” and didn’t respond until a full week later. Out of concern, we disputed the charge with our bank. Months later, they reversed the chargeback.

RUN, don't walk, from Next Stop! Your only protection is to pay their full insurance quote. Even then, you may still receive the coercive message they sent me: "We are prepared to offer you this refund on the condition you remove your review from the BBB website." WARNING: Once this HORRIBLE company has your money, no matter how often you call, email, or chat digitally, they WILL NOT respond seriously to you because THEY DO NOT CARE.

We were not very pleased with the experience. First of all the movers stole our flat screen TV. Secondly they promised a 7 am pick up and did not follow through until 3 days later. We were moving in the middle of the night. Once they arrived they wanted to keep charging more money. They also damaged a ceiling fan. After this moving experience, I will never hire one of these moving companies again. They lie, and steal. They also stole a box of coins.

Do not use this service. Salesman Jim Cummins is good at sales but once they have your money , no one responds to email, text or phone calls. This is a broker. They transferred it to Puma moving. My moving day was 2 days ago. Never show up. They texted after work at night and give another day and don’t show for that day either. They just canceled again and said they would be here tomorrow. Unable to reach anyone to get refund started.
