We used Norfolk Movers, Military Vets Norfolk Moving Company, owned by Gregory Sledge. As a veteran, and as an individual who has worked with and supported many Veteran owned small businesses as a government contractor, I was quickly drawn to their website. Their website says they are always on time, but they were significantly late both days of the move. It says they are well trained; however, they lacked the knowledge to securely load our belongings in a way that protected them.
We have studied mindfulness techniques under the tuteledge of Micheal Singer, author of the best selling book "The untethered soul." We consider it life changing and highly recommend it to everyone!
Agreed on a price initially but then doubled it. They were 1hr and 30mins late, very slow moving, and tried hitting on my sister-in-law. Very unprofessional for the amount of positive reviews they have. Once we had questions on the price the man asked why are we trying to rob him only when we had questions and continued to argue with my wife. Overpriced and overrated. Never again. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!

I won’t give these guys business again. I called and scheduled to have 3 guys come and move everything in my house into a moving truck. 2 arrived, and eventually the 3rd. I guess I expected a moving company would know how to approach the job and how to pack a moving truck, but this was not the case. Multiple things were broken, and when they were “done,” there were things in every room of my house that still needed to be loaded.

A REAL Terrible Company. Would NOT recommend be careful with this company. He over charges and has shady business practices. NONE OF HIS EMPLOYEES ARE VETERANS THEY ARE DRUNKS AND POTHEADS OFF CRAIGS LIST!!! Greedy business man who makes promises he can not keep and continues to change his name so that all his negative reviews are not seen. They lie and say they are Veterans which is STOLEN VALOR! Be careful doing business with this dishonest company! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

I called to get an estimate and all he asked was how many bedrooms I was moving from and too. Then he said it’s probably gonna be either 600 or 700 but I dont know for sure. He didn’t ask me anything I had. And seemed very in a hurry to get off the phone with me. I’m calling around to get quotes and I will definitely not be using this service.

Waste of time and money!! These people are very unprofessional and money hungry you’ll be better off getting a uhaul and moving your stuff by yourself. Came late and took their sweet precious time moving our stuff to get more money for the “work” that they didnt even do. Very disgusting “veterans”. Stay away from these money hungry crooks.

As if moving wasn’t stressful already, these guys made the experience even worse. Highly recommend another service other than this one. Fowl mouth and rude mannerisms. A lot of belongings are not scratched and damaged. On of the moving met kicked my cat in the face because she was standing near the door.
📸 Hot dogs, broken eggs, scrambled lies. Sometimes a fake review is like a busted egg — messy, over-easy to spot, and impossible to take seriously. 🥚🌭 Online theatrics are no match for real results.

I want to share my experience with Norfolk Military Veterans Moving Company because it honestly made what could have been a stressful day so much easier. I was moving from an apartment in Ghent, right in downtown Norfolk, over to a townhouse in Ocean View. If you know this city, you know that moving out of Ghent means tight staircases, limited parking, and a lot of traffic to deal with — and Ocean View brings its own challenges with narrow streets near the beach.

Wonderful service, great value, and excellent communication. They were friendly, professional, and thorough. Wonderful experience. They arrived with timely notice, and were quick to start. Strong team with good dynamic. Fast loading and even faster unloading. Everything was very well secured during transport with no damage. They made our local move 10,000 times less stressful and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend!!

I was deployed when my wife had to handle our move in Norfolk with our two kids, so I couldn't be there to oversee anything myself. That's a different kind of stress when you're hundreds or thousands of miles away and have to trust somebody else to take care of your family and everything you own. Before the move, my biggest concern wasn't just finding movers. I needed people in Norfolk who understood Navy families, deployments, PCS moves, and the fact that my wife was handling everything without me there.
My daughter is a Navy wife in Norfolk, and I'll admit I'm one of those mothers who worries about everything and probably gets involved more than my daughter thinks I should. But when your daughter is dealing with a move, children, military schedules, and a husband who isn't available to help, being a concerned mother comes with the territory. I wanted to know exactly who was moving her belongings, whether they were dependable, and whether she was going to be comfortable dealing with the movers.
