In their own words
I saw some negative reviews written about this company recently and ignored them since I'd worked with them once previously when I first moved to SF, but I shouldn't have. The whole experience was unprofessional and nowhere near where it should have been with the prices they charge. I was pregnant when we moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom less than one mile away, and working with this company caused me a lot of unnecessary stress. I would not use this company if you're considering.
We sincerely apologize for your stressful and unsatisfactory moving experience. We regret we fell short and appreciate you detailing the issues so we can address them. … More
Save your time and money and do not choose One Big Man & One Big Truck as your movers. They are dishonest movers who are managed by a very dishonest owner. After their movers damaged my $3000 oil painting, the owner actually began arguing/debating with me about how I couldn't prove that it was his guys that did it. I can assure you I would've known and noticed I had several deep, long scratches on my oil painting when I took it down from the wall that day. No, this company is quite unethical.
I recently had a really negative experience during a move with this company. Scheduling I had several calls to discuss what needed to be moved. I had originally asked for four people to help me they convinced me down to 2 and then I begged them for 3. I explained in detail at least twice exactly what would be moved. We agreed to 3 people for $240 an hour. The Packing The three men that were sent to help me move showed up on time.
I'm truly sorry to hear about your negative experience. We strive to provide excellent service, and it seems we missed the mark during your move. We appreciate your feedback and take your concerns seriously.
Fred was amazing - very kind and courteous, and the pre-move logistics were handled well. However, on the day of, I was called multiple times and asked to arrive early (I couldn’t, as I was driving a Uhaul). The movers were very nice; they moved most of my things correctly, but despite mapping it out on paper, I was asked repeatedly where each item went.
Movers left departing address without checking in and left a number of items behind without direction to do so. No invoice option—must use an authorized card to pay on the spot. Pricing is just ok
I would not recommend this moving service. I came in with high hopes due to the reviews and how knowledgable they were about the street traffic on the street I was on but: …

OBM team did an excellent job. Easy to set up the appointment, communicative leading up to the move, and the crew was great during the move. The provide wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes and wrap/protect all furniture. The crew was really careful with our furniture, worked quickly, and were quick to smile throughout the full day move. I’ll definitely use them for our next move.
Thank you, Trevor! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with One Big Man & One Big Truck Moving Co. Inc.! We look forward to working with you again!
I've now moved twice with One Big Man, and both times been happy with the crew and experience. This second time I was a bit hazy on full inventory and had more high touch furniture, so we undersized the truck and (I, not them) underestimated the time - all this to say, 3 people for 5 hours is expensive and on second thought that big armoire thing does not match the layout of the new space anyways...
Thank you, Connor! We're thrilled to hear your positive experience with our team. Looking forward to round 3! (not too soon!😉) …
From our first call for an estimate to the last box placed in our new attic, we felt we were in competent, trustworthy, and reliable hands with One Big Man. The crew was so kind and fun. They were whizzes with disassembly and reassembly of furniture. And helped with our final, fragile art packing. We were moving out of San Francisco so there were some long drives involved, and the estimate pricing was accurate with no surprises.
Thank you so much, Stephanie! We're thrilled we could make your move stress-free with our reliable service. - One Big Man & One Big Truck Moving Co. Inc.
