In their own words
I picked this moving company based on reviews as we had our last move be out of state to Fairfax city. We did not have the best experience as we had multiple items get damaged and our hard floor scratched. The guys were nice but I think the third mover was very inexperienced and moved really slow compared to our last move. The main mover was the only good mover out of the three with the second being subpar. I'll wait and see if the company makes this right before updating the review.

I moved the entire contents of my home in Alexandria VA to Florida using Pender Moving Services. Two Sonos speakers, a Milwaukee 18-Volt cordless drill were stolen from me. My 5K mattress which was enclosed in a heavy duty mattress …

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Reliable, efficient, and careful! I spoke with Sharon about moving a large piece of gym equipment from my basement to another residence. She was very helpful, walking me through the process and sending a detailed quote. Sharon and her team arrived on time and got the job done without any issues. I will definitely use them again.
Thank you, I Q, for the thoughtful review — we’re pleased Sharon and the team made your gym equipment move smooth and worry-free. As a reliable local mover, we take pride in clear quotes, punctual arrival, and careful handling.
Pender Moving Services has helped me move 3 times and it has been a 10/10 experience every time! Sharon, who was my main point of contact for every move, is so lovely, reliable, professional and helpful! For my most recent move, Noel and Marcus were super communicative, on time and very careful with my belongings from start to finish. They made the move so much less stressful. I recommend them to all my friends who are moving - you won't regret it!
Thank you, Sita. We’re thrilled Pender Moving Services earned a 10/10 across three moves — your continued trust means a great deal. Sharon, Noel and Marcus will be pleased to hear you found them reliable, communicative, punctual and careful; delivering stress-free service is core to our Virginia…
A fantastic experience with Pender Moving Services! Estimate was spot on and reasonable (no nickle-and-diming after the fact like with some moving companies that I have dealt with in the past). I was not able to be present for the move, but there was excellent communication throughout the entire process. Not a single thing was damaged. Would definitely use Pender again. Highly recommended!
Craig, we appreciate your thoughtful review and are thrilled the estimate was accurate and our communication kept you informed throughout the move. As a Virginia moving company and trusted local mover, delivering damage-free service and transparent pricing is a top priority.
Our family had used Pender twice in the past, so when we needed a move this week I called to see if they could possibly move our daughter to an apartment on Thursday - just 3 days away. Sharon, the Manager, asked a few simple questions about the items to be moved, locations, etc, and we were set! The movers, Noel and Jonathan arrived on-time and did a great job in spite of a super heavy mattress which they had to carry up four flights of stairs.
Thank you, Pat. We truly appreciate your trusting our Virginia moving company again and for sharing your experience. We're proud that Sharon, Noel, and Jonathan delivered timely, hardworking service up four flights with care and good humor. … More
