In their own words
My review is based on having used interstate movers 6 times in the last 40 years, some personal, some corporate. This is, in our opinion, by far the worst company that has moved us. Their weight estimate was a lot less than the competing quotes, so obviously a lot cheaper. But had we not culled more than we originally planned to move we'd have been over their limit for additional charges, so I have doubts in their estimating process.
This is the most unprofessional moving company I've ever dealt with. We were referred to this company through northAmerican Van Lines and had an appointment set up for an estimate. We had to fly into town for the appointment as we don't live locally. The day of the appointment no one showed up. When we called there was no answer. Tracy who set up the appointment and confirmed it later told us that our appointment had been canceled because they were booked. No one had the decency to tell us ahead of time.
We hired Shoreview / Bayshore to move us out of our old home in May 2021. Everything went well and the crew did a really good job. They moved us into our new home July 2021 and the crew was a disaster. They banged up furniture and freshly painted walls, and were generally inept. They walked around and showed me all the damage and we signed off on the damage sheet inventory together. The office sent someone to do minor repairs and provide a cost estimate for other repairs.
Terrible! They were scheduled to come to my apartment for an estimate and they never showed up! No calls or explanations for why they did not show up.
Mr. Mattoo we do apologize as there seems to be some miscommunication here as our representative was on site and waited approximately 45 minutes. We contacted our representative and they said they could hear a baby and noise in the location but couldn't get anyone on the phone or at the door.
We paid this company $15k. This seemed worth it for the level of service we were told, in writing, that we would receive. Absolutely not worth it for the service we actually received. They were unprepared, dishonest, rude, and blamed us for every problem they created. The guy who gave us our quote said they’d send 3 people over multiple days to pack into boxes, then an additional day to pack the truck. They ended up sending 1 person to pack the entire house in 1 day.

My wife and I did a PCS move and the government selected this horrible company for god knows why. There where a couple of things we told them not to pack and those items where placed out of the way just to be sure they wouldnt be packed.... But somehow they packed those said items. They also labeled almost every single item of furniture "scratched" so they could get away with scratching the living hell out my stuff. Some how my PS4, 15 games, and a TV where all put in one box and that box is now "lost".

The actual moving guys are fantastic. The guy who gave us a quote, and the front office folks are entirely unhelpful and just terrible people to leave your family's move to. Avoid them if you can. Also make sure you review the fine print of the quote they give you. What you ask for, and what they quote you, may be two very different things.

The entire moving experience with Shore View Moving & Storage was a great one. After a smooth packing and loading of our household goods and vehicles at our residence, the unloading went just as well at the destination point. The driver arrived before 8:00 am and was ready to go with the moving team soon after. We discussed our plan, which was for me to direct them on where items without tags or specific descriptions should go in the house. Everything got to where it belonged without any issues.

I hired ShoreView to do my packing and moving for a cross-country move from Philadelphia to California. I can't rate them highly enough. The packers were incredibly thorough and exceptionally good. The boxes were all fully-packed, and quite literally everything arrived unbroken. Then when the movers arrived to pack everything into the truck, I had bed frames that were difficult to disassemble.
The BEST out of 9 moves in 20 years! This move was a final relocation for my retirement from the military. I chose to do a PPM because the DoD gave me a company that wasn’t accredited by the BBB and had only 1-star reviews for the past 5 years. I didn’t want to deal with those headaches on my final move. I had 4-5 companies from the DMV area give me estimates and Shoreview was right in the middle on price per pound. Rick and Lindsay were awesome from day one.
