PODS Moving & Storage

Pod was delivered on-time, by a driver who first blocked our car, then damaged the gutter on the house. Very bad attitude through the entire encounter. Once filled, the pick-up was timely and professional (like night & day!) As we were moving out of state I asked that the pod be delivered & stored near the location we anticipated moving only to find out later, delivery would not be offered to us from that location.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with PODS for our long-distance move. During the reservation process, I spent over an hour on the phone with a call center agent who instructed me to write down three specific charges for the drop-off, pickup, and final retrieval of the pod. These amounts were presented as the expected costs for each stage. However, PODS charged me significantly more than the quoted amounts, including an unexpected fee for a lock they forgot to provide.

PODS does not provide clarity about the need to schedule EVERY element of a move separately, which meant that what should have been a two week experience turned into over a month-long odyssey, with multiple calls to associates. The POD was not picked up when expected, delaying its initial transit by 3 to 4 days, then sat for over a week in a FL warehouse when we though it was in transit.

My family used them and had issues for delivery and then their delivery guy leaked oil all over a brand new driveway. The pod was 2 days late but they picked up the empty on time, however, never even let us know they were here. Would never recommend them.

Tried to schedule with PODS and it was a nightmare start to finish. Had to call because my order was custom, and after 30 minutes getting a quote, I found out I was fully signed up for a delivery! Then, when I saw the paperwork and immediately called, the system confirmed my order without me signing the documentation. Then it took 3 calls and being on hold for over 45 minutes to cancel the order. PODS did not attempt to make it right or correct the order in any way.

We had the Pod empty and ready for pick-up a week prior to the end of our monthly contract. I called to schedule the pick-up and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I couldn't wait that long so I tried again later with the same result. I decided to go online to schedule the pick-up based on the recorded prompt to do so, and the only available dates were past my month end deadline. I was eventually billed for another months rent and insurance for an empty Pod that they didn't have time to pick-up.

This was the worst part of the moving experience. The POD was not the size that was promised. We immediately called to have it corrected and the only solution offered was to order another POD for $600 additional dollars. When we said that was not a reasonable solution and that we would need to find another storage solution that met the original promise, we had to file a claim just to have our money refunded, despite never having used the POD and reporting the problem within 5 minutes of the delivery.

The driver that picked up my container from the 1st location to deliver it to the 2nd location was unable to place it in the desired spot, so they delivered it to a storage facility instead and marked it in PODS system as delivered to my address. It took PODS 6 days to discover the actual location of my container before it was finally delivered to my house. Then PODS billed my account for a new cycle of rent a full day before the new cycle started even though the container was picked up on the day before.
