PODS Moving & Storage

The POD container itself was great. I did have some broken items but that is to be expected. What I didn't expect was the $600 plus that I had to pay to get my items back after being stored for almost a year. PODs is not transparent in the fees. They will charge you on the backend for amounts that were not relayed to you in the beginning. I was told it would cost me $12 for redelivery and as I stated earlier, it cost me over $600 to have my POD delivered to me so I could have my household items back.

First off, the very first time I called, someone yelled at me into the phone that they couldn't hear me and then they hung up. If there was an issue with the credit card on file, I didn't receive any sort of communication that my payment had not gone through. Had I not called because it never appeared on my checking account I would have been charged a late fee and who knows what else would have happened to my belongings.

I found it incredibly helpful to have the PODS team drop off the container wherever I needed, pick it up after packing, and then store it at their facility until I scheduled another drop off location at my new place. The men who operate the container trucks are incredibly nice and very helpful. I didn't appreciate how they quoted me one initial price and then somehow along the way I was always charged just a little bit more. However, TERRIBLE costumer service at the Richmond office as well as with corporate.

*Edit. 1 month later I called again to get another 18ft POD. Everything the same, same pickup and drop-off address, the estimate is now $1000 more, best they can do. It's not even peak season yet. I have full-service quotes with packers for $100 less. The PODS need to be A LOT bigger, 1-18ft POD (largest) was not enough to move 5 people, kids & adults. Rental trucks or moving companies offer a 26ft container. The 18ft truck holds a lot but at 26ft container holds a lot more for 1/3 of the price at U-Haul.

THEY HIT MY CAR AND WILL NOT GET ON THE PHONE WITH ME. One star is way to much for them. I ordered 3 pods months in advance. One pod was on time, the second was a day late and the third was 9 days late. The worst part is the delivery driver hit my car and left the seen. PODs customer support is the worst most useless call you could ever make. Several times they logged a case for my car damage then dismissed it internally without ever even speaking with me on the phone.

Used pods for 4 months while renovating home. After moving items back in home all my clothes had a sun damaged fade on the right side of all items. Filed a claim with PODS which was denied, as they said I assume all risk when using their product.

POD delivers driver damaged my handy cap ramp on my porch. Drove away with out filling a report or saying I am Sorry. I called the office three times and still no response.. The driver also damaged the POD as he was re moving it.

Very disappointed. I signed up for moving and storage of a 16-foot pod. The only reason I selected the largest size was that the monthly storage fee was discounted to the same price as the 12-foot one on the website. Once the pod was delivered there was no option to schedule a pickup time, so I reached out to customer service.
