PODS Moving & Storage

We kept a container in storage with PODs for 2 years and added insurance. When we had them ship it across the country there were wood beds and mattreses damaged. We made a claim with insurance but were denied because insurance basically only protects against natural disasters. So the company is not liable for mildew on my expensive latex mattress, or the dings in our bed frames, great! What a pathetic company! I had to buy a new $3k mattress and try to have the dings and holes in my bed repaired.

Estimated delivery was delayed twice. They would've held my belongings for well over a month had I not hired a local moving company to help move all my stuff from the container at the PODS warehouse back to my new residence, as the earliest delivery date I received from PODS was two weeks after the container had arrived to their local warehouse. Unacceptable! And now they are giving me a difficult time reimbursing me for the moving company I hired, as well as compensation for failure to deliver on their services.

The Pods experience was very disappointing. The driver was so rude to my babysitter that he made her cry. When I finally got on the line with him, he was rude to me, and he completely disregarded my instructions on where to place the pods. He made my entire move more difficult.

Pods has caused problems from day one. The pod was placed on the sidewalk and the road which is not allowed. I just moved into a 55 and older community and got in trouble with management and my neighbors were very upset that the pod was left there. I tried numerous times to have removed. Pods said it would take 72 hours to do a full investigation. The pod was supposed to delivered and picked up on the same day. They said I never made those arrangements yet the first day they did it.

We moved from the Tampa, Florida area to Lexington, Kentucky with PODs recently (through their corporate sponsorship with Publix since my husband is a Publix employee) and it has been the worst customer experience of my life. At every interaction, the PODs coordinator made things more difficult and more expensive than it needed to be and it's clear that they cut corners with contractors by the way the team they hired to load us behaved. I highly recommend finding a different solution for your move.

Do not use for long moves and especially if you are military! This company has been a disaster ever step of the process after signing agreement. We did a military move from Tampa FL to Las Vegas NV. The Tampa office in Hudson is either completely incompetent or just straight out liars. We got the PODS delivered without Empty Weight tickets, which we paid for. We got 2 PODS and when the first was delivered without the empty weight ticket, that driver told me the tickets were with the second driver.

My experience with PODS has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had, and I would not recommend this company. I've spent hours on the phone trying to get answers. On multiple occasions, I waited over two hours just to be transferred to a supervisor, only to get nowhere. I've called three separate times and received three completely different answers to the same questions. It seems like no one knows what they're doing, and there is no consistency or accountability.

I can say I would’ve rather spent more money with ABF Freight and dealt with their one size pods then use PODS again.. The pod I received should’ve been retired years ago. The inside was not kept well at all. Rusted bolts about to fall out all over, the overhead door was a pain to open and close because it was sagging on one side, the weather stripping was popped off so anything could get in.
