PODS Moving & Storage

Without a doubt the most unprofessional company I have ever come across. I called their customer service to confirm location placement 3 times prior to delivery. They only have offshore customer service btw. They confirmed placement location but the driver just wanted to put it in the most convenient location for a quick drop and exit. Also wanted me to sign a damage waiver and accept responsibility for any and all damage HE might cause to my property.

I decided to hold on to my review for several weeks until my daughter was moved and everything was handled. My experience with PODS has been a rollercoaster. The team was very helpful getting this all set up. I started in March and had a delivery date set for the end of May. It was on a Saturday and before a holiday but was assured it was going to work out. We had Saturday and Sunday to get her moved. We were given a window on Saturday of when the POD would arrive.

The actual moving through PODS was easy (and reasonably priced), but dealing with PODS the company was a complete and utter nightmare. For that reason, I will never use them again. I called customer service to increase the size of one of my two Pods from 8 ft to 16 ft (because you’re unable to do that online through your account). The agent I spoke with messed up the order and added a 16 ft to my account instead of replacing the 8 ft.

POD was dropped off without incident. Austin picked it up and ran over everything in sight. Ruined my flower bed and landscaping rocks. Ran over the whole setup which scattered and he attempted to place back. Nevertheless, it’s ruined. He then ran over the sewer drain and moved it plus chipped the drain cap.Austin left his card but made no attempt to make us aware of what we would come home to. My neighbors contacted me to make me aware of this craziness that was going on at my home while I was at work.

Terrible experience, lied to from beginning to end, will never do business with PODS Moving and Storage again and will not recommend them for anyone. Charged more than double what was quoted and given no discount as promised, neither the 30% as advertised nor the veterans discount. They made mistakes and charged us to correct them. And don't be surprised when they decide they don't service an area and want you to rent a truck or hire a service to unload your PODS at one of their facilities.

This is the biggest lie!!! Do not use PODS. I called back in march to get a TOTAL price to rent a pod. I was moving in town less the 50miles. I was quoted $450. It was almost DOUBLE that when it was all said and done. 300 to get it delivered to my old address, and then I was told 150 to get it delivered to my new house. Lie! They charged 300! To move it to the new house. And then another 150 to pick it up. The fact that they say “no surprise cost” is absurd.

Everyone sees the commercials with pick up and delivery. I thought that's what their business was, but they also just do storage. Apparently I signed up just to have a local POD. And when I called to have the POD delivered to a neighboring state it's an additional $1,300. When I tried to schedule delivery I was told "I'm too far away". So when I called, obviously upset, I asked the customer service rep how many calls like mine they get and he says, "unfortunately a lot". Good luck with this business model.

Using Pods was a terrible mistake. After having possession of my property they initially told me that they couldn't deliver to my location. After numerous phone calls (7) and much discussion I finally got my property but it took so long that I had to pay a month's extra rental on each of the 2 Pods for a total of $840.95. It made for a more expensive and frustrating move. I would not recommend the use of Pods.
