PODS Moving & Storage

TLDR: Turns out you get what you pay for – buyer beware. Damage to my furniture AND my property; no resolution. EDIT: in response to the reply...I have no idea who UNIRISC(sp) is. I was referred to Gallagher Bassett. Seems like a waste of my time to spend another six months trying to work with your insurance company only to be rejected and/or ghosted again. I decided to try using PODS for a recent move. The prospect of having a few days to pack up the storage unit on both ends of the move was the biggest draw.

The good: Conveinient The bad: Pricing: I was overcharged due to their error. I paid extra for same day drop off and pick up.. The driver failed to call the contact listed on my profile, gave me five minutes to respond and left. I was told initially I would be refunded but they later claimed I did not respond in time. I will be filing a small claims charge. I have the time the message was sent, I responded within the time frame. They never called the contact listed on my agreement. There were two numbers.

Everything was fine until I tried to schedule my POD to be redelivered to my new address after a couple months in storage. I found out that the PODS company refused to deliver to curbside in my destination zip code (and my new home doesn't have a driveway flat enough.) I wasn't made aware of this when I first placed my order and designated the final zip code. PODS failed to communicate these issues to me in a timely manner and it caused me great distress.

Listen to the reviews, this place has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Everything went smoothly until they had collected our final payment, and now they won’t pick up our POD. It took our apartment complex threatening to tow it for them to even act like they care. I think the quality of customer service is shown in the response they have to every negative review: “please follow up with us”, yet they have continued to get the same complaints for many years and there seems to be no change, with some…

Was told PODS delivered nationwide when placing my order. When I needed my POD delivered to my new residence, was told they didn't deliver to that area code. Had to pay an additional $1400 to hire movers to unload my POD at their facility and unload at my new residence. Very misleading. PODS does not deliver nationwide.

Really terrible experience with this company. My pod wasn’t redelivered during the window they provided, and I had to call them and I waited for 45 MINUTES to talk to someone regarding why my pod wasn’t at my house. After they told me my pod would be delivered at 8pm, I got a call at 7:45pm where they told me it wouldn’t be delivered at all and the closest appointment they had was a week away from the initial appointment.

Ordered 4 pods to move from KY to TX. PODS lost one of the pods for 5 weeks. PODS shipped one pod to the wrong city which delayed receiving our items. PODS charged 4 different mileage charges, varying by hundreds of dollars, even though all 4 went to the same addresses. They charge you for storage even after your pod has been delivered. Was told by multiple reps I would receive credit for the weeks of inconvenience, nothing to date.

I won't use again. Booking online for my move to Louisville and I was referred to the call center for setting up service. Call center reps are hard to understand and are very unknowledgeable about processes. I was very clear that my need for service was for a relocation. My pod was set up as a temp storage. When I went to move they told me I needed to pay a $250 dollar relocation upgrade. This was extra on top of the charge to move it.
