PODS Moving & Storage

I used PODS mainly because I heard they are very careful with the stuff, they are also punctual with the time and there is no fraud or lies involved. It is so sad to say that my experience was completely opposite. My container delivery was delayed by a week. It was so difficult to reach the customer service as they have waiting time of around 40 minutes.

What a nightmare. If you're trying to decide between moving with Pods and paying thousands more to hire full service movers - hire the movers. If you don't think you can afford it - hold a bake sale, a rummage sale, sell off a child - whatever you have to do. It will be worth it, I promise. Pods is helpful if and only if, you have the most standard, easiest local move of all time.

If I could write a zero I would. I rented a pod and was quoted the fee. NO where does it state( as I went though my paperwork) that there is an additional pickup fee. I called and asked customer service this and was told that was the price for everything . I extended my pod for an additional month and was charged TWICE to pick up the unit / BE very aware of all hidden fees and check your paperwork ..when I called for an explanation I was told the price is the price sorry not sorry . NICE business strategy . ..

DO NOT USE PODS OF ROCHESTER. If I could give them 0 stars I would. If you look at some of the reviews from other people you will see the same thing that I am going to explain in my review. I ordered 2 PODS, the second to come two days after the first. I specifically asked them to email me or call me when they were on their way to drop off the POD and no one called. It was supposed to be delivered in the morning and by mid afternoon I had not gotten a call.

Despite multiple guarantees from PODS customer service - including the night before delivery - my POD was not delivered to its destination on the agreed upon date. "Traffic" was cited as the reason for the delay, but there was no traffic to speak of between the distribution site and drop off address, and customer service could not put me in contact with anyone at the local office to explain the true issue. Furthermore, I had a drop off scheduled for Thursday and a Monday pickup of the empty container.

Moving is stressful enough, they just add a lot more. Original pickup was on 7/30 and arrive to final destination on 8/10. They were aware that I had same day pickup on 7/30. They gave me an estimated window of 10:45 - 1:45. Then all of a sudden it was moved to 7/31. Talked to one customer service rep to make sure it didn’t affect my 8/10 date and “he put in a claim” I called in 7/31 to get an ETA because I was trying to wait around for the container to get picked up.

My experience story is sooo long that I'll try to sum it up so that people will read to the end. On 4/19 I loaded my entire home in container. I used PODS because I didn't want to load truck unload in storage, and then load and unload at my newly purchased home. Reason of Pods is to avoid this right? On 3/20 peak of Covid the bank got my ppwk rushed due to shutdowns. When the driver arrived with pod he took at least 30min in the street turning pod around to face opening for us to unload.

The only good quality of this company is that most of the drivers are great. the initial delivery the driver was in a hurry to leave. The driver dropping off after being in storage was the better experience. Most of the call center folks were not helpful and rude when you ask to speak to their manager or supervisor good luck.
