Prodigy Moving & Storage

I moved from Boston to Florida. This company name Kelly and Jerry as unprofessional as I’ve ever seen. Do NOT go with this company if your moving out of state. They sell your contract to anyone that bids on the move. Once they contract you, there done with you and have no further interest on when and how you’ll be moved. Prodigy movers sold my move to Moving express out of NY. I was missing over 10 boxes! And more half of my glass ware was broken to pieces! The cracked my 55 inch TV.

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! Here’s my horrible experience. I’m moving across the country. I called and spoke with a Daniel to get a quote on pricing. I was emailed over a contract, and asked to submit a copy of my drivers license and credit card to ensure it was me. They advised they have to put down 2 days on the paperwork but that dispatch would call and advise of a date and time when the movers would arrive. The first day comes. No call. No movers. I call the company. No answer.

I’ve been thinking about whether or not to post this for awhile, but today was the defining moment when I opened up an under-bed storage box and found the packers had shoved in the dustiest, dirtiest, most disgusting piece of forgotten luggage from under my bed along with my children’s toys, which were already packed nicely. Why? We were around, they could have asked us, or they could’ve used common sense and not thrown it in with an already packed box filled with baby stuff. We had boxes left over!

I moved nearly 8 times and have never dealt with a more unprofessional company as Prodigy. My first quote was $1300 then two days later upped it to $1700 due to tariffs. Then upped it to $1900 due to more items added to list. OK I can deal with that. Then the evening before packing up my things, they called and upped what we owed to $3900. By this time the next day I have to be out of my place because it was sold. So we had no choice but to agree to it.

The movers brought our furniture last night, finally. This entire process with this company has been one mistake after another. From arriving on site to pick up our stuff and managing to tack on hundreds of dollars in unanticipated fees, putting a hole in the wall moving stuff, and claiming it wasn't there fault. To promising us a delivery date and then completely lying and arriving 8 days after the scheduled date.

We hired Prodigy to help us move a few miles down the street based on all the positive reviews. We figured spending up for the best provider would be worth it. We were wrong. Very wrong. Also, an important note regarding those positive reviews: any negative reviews my husband or I write seem to disappear when viewed on incognito mode here or Yelp, so it appears they are very aggressively managing their profile and I would be leery of trusting what your read.

I went with this company because they had good reviews. Everything was fine & they were super friendly and responsive, UNTIL THEY PICKED UP MY FURNITURE... Once they got my stuff that's when everything changed. They also lied SEVERAL times. When I 1st signed up the sales person told me they had a tuck of course going to the state I was moving to. Once they got my stuff it became a 4 - 10 days is our usual turn around... Once the 10 days past it became that they had up to 30 days to deliver.

Do not use... my assumption is that they send a link for reviews and internally attempt to filter good/bad reviews to assist in what the consumer sees based on how bad this service was. Everything was fine until they picked up. Said couches were oversized and charged 1000 more. Then said they would deliver on the 9th.... on the 26th they call to deliver and I have to cancel a flight. I sign papers and realize the next day I’m missing items. When I call they say it wouldn’t fit on truck, after I finish paying.
