In their own words
Abysmal service. The tagging system doesn't work as intended, resulting in untagged boxes going missing. Damages to personal items are expected so dont't be surprised!

A truck from this company was coming to move our neighbors today and driving down our street hit then pulled down the wires for our Bell Internet and left the wires hanging across the street only four feet off the road for the next unsuspecting vehicle to hit or worse case a child on a bike falling off after hitting the wire and a car running over them!
Setup a time, weeks in advance. They no showed. Called them and they told me they need to push the date back. Ended up talking with them another two times on the phone and all three times proceeded to push the dates back. No communication. I had to call to find this out. So no communication, pushing back dates with no reason. Would never go with them. Ended up telling them not to bother coming since it was pushed back over a week.
DO NOT use this company. I got completely taken for $4,800. Quoted me $21,600 on the very fist quote. Every step after added new fees and new costs. This ended up costing me $26,400. Let's start with the fact that they subcontract a lot of work, so my move involved Riverbend, Great Canadian Van Lines and also Provincial Movers. They tried to up the fuel surcharge by 7% after they quoted me but before the move.
I had provincial move us from Ontario to Alberta in May of 2021. Their team loading the truck seemed to do a good job, but broke some furniture and when the damaged furniture arrived we identified several concerns. The quote was off by $3,500 - they way underbid - when I requested some compensation for the damaged furniture I was told I could get $.60/pound for the furniture that was damaged and was offered $250.00 as a goodwill payment.
The movers were friendly and even arrived early! They loaded my furniture fairly quickly, but the unloading is the reason for the 2 stars. I had 2 large heavy glass shelves from inside a big display case, that they wrapped in moving blankets before loading them. I assumed that they would leave them in the blankets, and just charge me for them. Nope. When I asked about them, they just said, no we took the blankets back, but we tucked the glass in a safe place in the storage unit.
Was going to use them in a past move. Was set and deposit made. Told me they would contact me on June 2.0 to let me know when they were coming as I explicitly made it clear we were leaving on the 22 nd. They didn’t call me and when I called them and asked them when they were coming he was very rude and actually told me he didn’t know and if I didn’t like it to get someone else. He then sarcastically said something rude that I would be embarrassed to repeat. I told him I would find someone else.
if you are reading this, pay heed to this.. I hired their services to deliver my furniture in Montreal, the movers somehow ended up breaking my tv stand and they do not want to pay for broken furniture. Be careful when hiring their service. I advise anyone who here reads this review not to do the move with them, really. They are not reliable at all. They don't take good care of your stuff and will do the move any which way.

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Provincial Moving (Great Canadian Van Lines) was great to work with. They were very accurate with the online quote that was provided beforehand. The team was very communicative from the beginning about when the moving dates were, how much was needed to be moved, and confirmation of billing and deposit. The drivers/movers arrived on time and were able to move everything relatively quickly.
I had a fantastic experience with this moving company! It was a short-distance move, but they treated it with the same care and professionalism you’d expect from a major relocation. The team was extremely careful with all my items and worked efficiently, finishing everything in a timely fashion. The service was a great value for the price paid. Lisa was quick to respond, and I really appreciated that my final cost ended up being less than the estimate.
Thank you Ashley for sharing your experience. Our goal is to ensure every move receives the same level of care and professionalism, regardless of size. We’re happy your move with us was handled efficiently and that you were pleased with the service and value.
I used Provincial Moving's services for a significant relocation in 2015 (from Alberta to Ontario) and a more minor move in 2024, and their excellent service left me very impressed. When I relocated from Edmonton to Windsor in 2015, I hired Provincial Moving after doing extensive research, faced with the daunting task of transporting all my belongings. From the outset, they impressed me with their punctuality and professionalism. The movers arrived on schedule and wasted no time packing and loading my possessions.
During my recent move from Vancouver to Edmonton, I had the pleasure of working with Provincial Moving, who exceeded my expectations in every way. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, their communication was exceptional. For instance, they promptly responded to all my inquiries and kept me informed about the progress of my move every step of the way. Their team arrived on time and handled my belongings with care, ensuring that everything arrived at my new home in perfect condition.
Thanks Dave
