Worst move for the money I have ever had! Don’t know how these guys have a five star. The issues I experienced are the following: 1. They underestimated the job after doing a thorough walk through for their quote for a fairly typical three bedroom home. The day of the move they arrived with one medium size Uhaul type truck that no way could accommodate house contents.
I would never recommend this company. I left them a voicemail to contact me and when I did not hear from them, I then also sent a text as requested in their voicemail. I never heard back from them at first. Finally late that night I received a text saying they "had been out of the office helping crews" and would call me in the morning. I texted them the next morning to see when they were able to call and they said they are again "out on moves" and can not call.
Ready Set Movers moved us from theMyrtle Beach area to Charleston. The movers were very good and the move went relatively well with no damage and on-time. My 3 star review relates to charges which I thought were unclear and even deceptive. The estimate was for 6 movers and 2 trucks at $265 per hour. I was told by phone that we would only be charged for the time they were on site. The written estimate seemed to confirm the discussion ("$265 per hour includes drive time").
Showed up with 5 guys for a simple move. Reduced to 3 guys when I complained. The remaining crew was quite inefficient. In the end, I overpaid. By a lot.

I needed help moving out of a storage unit this week and needed someone to help in the next few days. I called several local movers in the area, but most were either too expensive, not available or non-responsive. I found Ready Set Movers via a Google search and Ryan got right back to me over text message. Within minutes he quoted me a fair, transparent price and I had an invoice, paid my deposit and was scheduled for the next morning.
After reading many positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to contact Ready Set Movers for my move from Mount Pleasant to Daniel Island. Right from the beginning - I knew the reviews were legit. They contacted me right away, were very easy to work with and quoted me a very fair price. I booked them for my move and I'm so glad I did - everything went great!
RSM have moved us twice...both times going to 2 separate homes at once! They are terrifically organized and focused. They took exceptional care in organizing, labeling and packing everything from inside the cupboards and closets to wrapping all the furniture so as not to get it dirty or damaged. I have had NO damage on ANYTHING from these guys. Aside from that, they are intelligent, polite and diligent.These folks are also very aware of how challenging moves are to a family and work to keep the stress at bay.
I was tasked with a huge project 12 months ago. I was handed a 100 year old medical building and asked to relocate its contents (labs, tech equipment, junk, furniture, etc. ) and its occupants (42 offices). Needless to say, with the limited resources available on campus, I quickly realized I was in way over my head. I have made multiple mistakes along the way but , the one thing that was definitely not a mistake was contracting with Ready Set Movers!!
