The rating breakdown
0 of the 29 ratings in Google’s published star breakdown for River Valley Piano Service are one or two star.
Worked out from 29 ratings. That is enough to publish but few enough that one more review moves it noticeably, so read it as a hint rather than a measurement.
Against other listings in Hartford

The same method, applied to the four and five star reviews. Most movers are praised for the same handful of things, so what is missing here is often as telling as what is present.

In their own words
Very smooth process! Rich was responsive in setting up a day/time to schedule the move and called when they were running just a few minutes late (an earlier job ran long). Movers were friendly & quick, and there was no damage to the piano or bench during the process. Pricing was fair and they were upfront in communicating cost beforehand. Would definitely recommend!
The mover was totally professional and had just the right equipment to move our family piano. The mover was very friendly and helpful. He was on time and the cost was very reasonable. So pleased and would highly recommend this company.
Thanks for the kind words Lee-Ann. It was a pleasure to work with you!
"5 stars are hardly enough to describe the incredible job Rich and his helpers did to bring my piano up a narrow staircase separated by a narrow landing. Other professional movers who I consulted with turned down the job. A music school director recommended River Valley Piano and said Rich was wonderful. I sent him photos and dimensions of the staircase; when he arrived he said he ‘already' had a plan in place. He and his men flawlessly got this piano upstairs. Rich coached his men with such kindness.
Rich is the best. I've used NUMEROUS piano movers in the past, work as a full-time professional piano tuner/technician, and can honestly say there is no one I trust MORE to move my or my customers' pianos. He is meticulous in moving because he understands and has worked with pianos for years. His knowledge in pianocraft extends far beyond moving. Highly recommended as my #1 go-to piano mover.
