Road Haugs Moving & Storage

I have had a horrible experience with this company. The original person who came and quoted was nice, and 2 of the 3 movers were nice, but the staff member is rude and one of the movers was also rude. They damaged 2 filing cabinets and dented them in. They refused to move some of our items up the stairs without even measuring them first. They put those items in the garage along with another desk they could have moved in on the first floor.

Road Haugs handled the “white glove” delivery service for furniture I ordered through Article, but my experience was far from white glove. Following delivery, I discovered damage to my exterior entry step that was not reasonably visible during the delivery itself. I reported this the very next day. The damage is a splintered section of the step with material broken off (photo included), which is consistent with impact from moving heavy furniture across that exact entry path.

Do use Road Haugs moving company for the following reasons: 1. They sell you a Ruth Chris experience (and price) and deliver a Burger King experience. Save you money and go with Two Men and a Truck. 2. The customer rep Shannon had an attitude like she was doing me a favor for paying them a premium to move me. She was confused about how I was going to pay, and at one point she said I would have to pay on the day of the move. I then told her the salesperson told me they would bill me.

I cannot recommend this moving company. Less than 30 hours before my scheduled move, after weeks of confirmed emails and communications, they suddenly informed me that they would no longer honor the written quote they had repeatedly confirmed. Instead, they increased the price by approximately 400%. When I contacted the company to resolve the issue, they refused to work with me in any way.

This company will not work around your schedule in any way whatsoever!!!! I had ordered a mattress from J C Penney’s which was sent to this company to be delivered. I was given a 2 day notice that it would be delivered. I could not get off work that quickly. I gave them 3 time periods for the following week, that I was available. The next time they tried to schedule, they only gave me a 1 day notice and it was for a time slot that I had already told them I was not available.

This review as long overdue as I am one that does not like to leave a review the way I’m going to. I just have to say that came down to the last minute we were willing to pay more for help. We were told they had no more boxes however, we saw them on their truck. In addition to that, as I am trying to clean up some of the stuff they have done with placing things in my garage, I found their subway trash, which was absolutely disgusting.

I was very disappointed with the service I received from Road Haugs. I had them move an antique table, chairs and a rug from my sister's house. When they brought the rug in, they hit an object on the table in my foyer, knocking it over. I am unsure why, but the 3 movers that showed up parked on the street, rather than in the driveway and brought the (very heavy) table all the way from the street to the door.

There was a lack of communications from the very beginning. On the delivery day I got a call about 2 hours before the delivery time telling me that they was going to be there in 20 minutes. I had to stop what I was doing and go to the house where I was expecting delivery. After over an hour I tried calling and texting them without response. Two and a half hours later they showed up. They were unfriendly and unprofessional. When I wanted to inspect the furniture before they left this seemed to upset them.
