Safebound Moving & Storage

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Absolute nightmare experience with Safe Ship Moving Services. Be aware that Safe Ship is a moving broker, not the actual moving company. They contract your move out to a third-party carrier, which allows them to avoid taking responsibility when things go wrong. Our move was assigned to Mirit/Great American Moving, and the experience was disastrous. Our delivery was delayed for weeks beyond the promised date, leaving us in an empty home with none of our belongings.

I used this company for a (200 mile) move back in November 2021. I was downsizing to a 1 bedroom with small den apartment, so needless to say I didn’t have an extensive amount of stuff. I called for a quote and provided them with pictures of the furniture items I was moving. I also mentioned that I'd have many boxes, but didn't have the exact # at the moment. I was told "no problem" by the sales person, and a quote was emailed to me.

I hired Safebound for a cross-country move. On the day prior to pick-up (12/20), I learned that they had subcontracted the move to Princz Moving. Within minutes of arrival, their crew decided my move would cost 45% more than what was quoted to me at the time of the estimate. Having already paid the deposit, and needing to move on that day, I had no meaningful choice but to "agree" to the new terms. The team of two proceeded to pack and load the truck.

I would like to provide a better review of Safebound if things change in how issues are handled that I experienced during my move. At the beginning, Chris in sales was excellent to work with and the pick up of my items went off without a hitch through one of their partner contractors in my former area Topline moving and storage. Unfortunately the delivery of my items did not go well and had some issues with the driver as well as with my items.

Communication with Safebound was very difficult. The young man Nathan, with whom we made contact could not be reached but a of couple times. There were delays after delays, for various reasons. we finally received our belongings approximately 7 days after our arrival. My husband is a disabled veteran & needed his supplys within a couple days of our arrival.

I was swayed by these positive reviews. This is for everyone to read to know what will happen to their move. PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO. First of all, Safebound has a strong sales team - Patric talked to me multiple times, did a video walk-through of my place to estimate the costs of the move, and was very responsive to all my emails - until I signed the contract for the move. After that, he couldn't help with any of my issues.

Unethical Business Practices – Charged $1,000 for No Service I had a terrible experience with SafeBound Moving & Storage. I scheduled their services and signed an agreement beforehand, but when they arrived, I decided not to proceed with the move and asked them to leave. Despite not using their services at all, they still charged me $1,000. When I reached out to dispute the charge, they claimed I had "accepted" their services simply by signing the agreement, even though no actual moving was done.

Safebound was stressful the moment after I signed the contract. The sales guy I spoke with to set up my move was so nice and helpful. I just wish he level set with me about what to expect. I was told he’d be my POC throughout the entire process, he had me walk through my apt on FT to view each thing I was moving to give me a proper estimate.
