Shleppers Moving & Storage

While we had a good prior experience with Shleppers, our most recent move was a complete disaster, as if it were a totally different company. They somehow managed to lose a box containing most of my daughter's wardrobe. How do you lose a large box moving 15 miles? My guess is they left it in the truck and covered it with refuse, then never bothered to let me know. They broke another item that I was going to put in my car, but they insisted they would carefully wrap and put on the truck.

Schleppers moved me out of my three bedroom apartment stored my furniture for 2 months and returned nearly half of my furniture broken, damaged and in irreparable condition. I only asked for reimbursement for the items I paid to get refixed (10% of total damage) but they didn't reimburse me for the damages saying I only bought basic insurance which offered $120 reimbursement for nearly $10,000 damage they caused.

Shleppers failed to provide the quality moving service and professional services paid for. I recently moved using Shleppers and multiple of my items were broken or damaged. I understand some things will inevitably break in a move but my brand new $1,600 TV was broken because they failed to properly pack it. The service I paid for included Shleppers packing the TV in a box, my expectation for this is a padded tv box like other companies provide. They however wrapped it in an extra cardboard box and called it a day.

Had a decent experience with them last year and was hoping to use them this year again. Got a call from this sales person Eliza, who was kind of impolite to me, as I tried to negotiate the quote as a repeat customer. But I let it pass, after all everyone has their bad days. She said if I get a better quote from another mover and provide it to her, she could try to speak with her manager to get me a possible discount. After I sent her these quotes, I just got a message from Schleppers saying "sorry to see you go!".

I had an absolutely terrible and unprofessional experience with this company. They sent a third party team, not a moving crew directly with their company. The truck was way too small, something the team lead of the crew identified immediately. We called the company they refused to send a bigger van. The third party crew was reckless with our items tossing them into large boxes where they goes dented and scratches. Placed my peloton bike upside down in the van.

I hired Shleppers to pack and move me in November of 2020—a residential move in Manhattan. It was an unmitigated DISASTER from start to finish—with multiple damages to furniture, improper packing, missing items, lack of safety protocols during the move, as well as irresponsibility and dishonesty from the moving crew, and a complete lack of customer service. 1.

Run don’t walk from this company If you care about your belongings do not use this moving company. During my move, three pieces of valuable furniture were damaged in the move. Not marred, but broken: legs torn off furniture, wood pieces snapped off. The movers were so quick that they showed no care in the fact they were handling items that were not made of iron. Then after damaging the furniture, the foreman stood around virtually shaking me down for a tip for the crew.

DO NOT USE. would make it zero stars if I could. There is no price that makes Schleppers worth the pain. Have moved multiple times in NYC. This was our first time using Schleppers and our move was like a commercial for bad moves. we paid for packing, unpacking and storage. The packing and unpacking were terrible - missed entire closets while packing that we had to have them come back and do. Numerous items were broken, stained (unclear how that happened) or missing.
