They were nice and friendly of course in the beggining but the guy kept pushing for tips and said they can get me a discount depending on whether or not I tip 15% or 20%. Also they really tried threatening me to tip or else they wouldnt do a good/fast job thus having to raise the hours needed. In the end they didnt really give me a discount more like they gave themselves a higher percent of the cut. Complete swindlers. I unfortunately signed the paper before I got a chance to look at the furniture's and items.
Booked a NYC to Seattle move with international van lines that was subcontracted to Velocity. On moving day we were up charged $3000 despite having a thorough estimate from international van lines. Initially our moving consultant told us our belongings should arrive close to our first available date given that we were giving them over a month for transit. When our first available delivery date came we called and were told they had no timeframe for delivery.
My move cross country from Philadelphia was brokered out to Velocity Moving and Storage by International Van Lines (IVL) summer of 2022. In one word, the job they did was atrocious. I made the mistake of putting faith in a Forbes article praising IVL and ultimately went with the company based on that and the lower quote I was given compared to two other leading companies, which as it turns out was nothing more than a drastic under quote as I was hit with some big overages upon loading of the truck (an additional…
Overall a poor quality of Service from Velocity moving. I selected this moving company from NJ to CA with packing, assembly, disassembly at pickup and destination. Significant money paid for the service. Pick-up from NJ was OK, but the delivery to CA was un-organized and poor. Delivery partner dumped most of stuff, was in hurry to dump, did not assemble complete furniture, broke the furniture.
These movers pressured us to give them a better tip at the time of the move and made my wife very uncomfortable. When we received our goods our TV was broken (packaged in a Uhaul TV box and wrapped in a moving blanket) and they did not complete reassembly of one of our beds. I submitted a claim for the TV and the company denied responsibility. Totally unprofessional company. BEWARE!
Please dont use this company for your move. They are scammers. All i had was 60 small items. And the charged me $3000. And i if you refuse to pay them that price they will hold your things as hostage.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IF YOU DO USE THEM GET YOUR OWE INSURANCE POLICY. DO NOT TIP ANYONE, YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY. YOU ARE BETTER OFF RENTING A U-HAUL TRUCK FOR PEACE OF MIND. THEY LOST SEVERAL OF MY BOXES WHICH INCLUDED PASSPORTS, BIRTH CERTIFICATES, PICTURES. I PAID THEM A TOTAL OF $5752 FOR MY MOVE PLUS TIPPING {$60 * 4 MEN)f FOR THE CREW THAT DID THE PICK UP, AND TIPPING THE DRIVER $150 AT DESTINATION. AFTER WE STARTED SOME UNPACKING FOUND TV STAND GLASS, COMPUTER STAND BROKEN.
It's hard to imagine worse moving company. Before you pay them money they would tell you things like "your move will take maximum 5 days, we put in a contract 21 just in case of some extraordinary situation happens", in reality, as soon as you pay them money, they say things like "you signed a contract, we have 21 business days to deliver your things". So be prepared to stay one month in a hotel if you hire this company. They have no intention to make your move good.

I made the best choice with going with velocity, on time, wonderful personalities, they were careful with my art work, and where I moved too is long distance and literally quick. They're packing my storage really nice. I truly recommend. If you want things done right, with the insanity of a move check them out. Very professional, and the care they took with my things is a great value for the price. Long distance is scary and sucks but this was Top notch quality. Very happy with them.
Moving is stressful without a doubt, but if you hire the right people it's not! I have been searching for a moving company for quite some time and made an extensive search before hiring Velocity Moving. After hearing some great feedback from a couple of friends that have used them, I've checked their on line reputation and decided to contact them for an estimate. My move was a local one within NYC. The estimate was very competitive and was also very accurate.
This is my 2nd time using Velocity Moving within less than 3 years, and I strongly and warmly recommend them. On my first move I relocated from New York to North Carolina. They sent an estimator over to survey the apartment, and made a move plan to accommodate needs, that included a full packing service and a specific pick up and delivery schedule.
I honestly can't rave enough about this company. We had an unfortunate experience with a different moving company that put us in quite a spot, but once Velocity was on the job, I could not have been more pleased! They were very communicative before arriving, while doing the work, and as they were finishing up. Every member of their five man team was kind, professional, and considerate.
