I had the displeasure of using SV Moving for a move recently, and was overall quite disappointed with the experience. The condition of my belongings was not great - multiple broken items, clothes crumpled up, and so on. A particularly bad example was how they dissassemble furniture: you're supposed to keep track of all the screws and pieces! This is Moving 101! Yet when we unloaded my stuff, the "parts" box was missing items, which means my furniture can't even be reassembled.

We used SVM previously to move from a 1br w/ garage to a storage unit, and initially thought they were fine, but expensive. One of the 3-man crew was extremely motivated and skilled. They were all polite. It took them 9.5 hours to complete the move, including their 2x rate for drive time. They packed the kitchen and wrapped furniture, but 90% of the rest of our stuff was already in boxes when they arrived.

Awful. Do not use. The only pieces of furniture that were not damaged, were the furniture pieces that were crated and packed by another company. Every other piece of furniture in the entire house was damaged. Stemware broken. Items were lost. Packers were smoking pot on the job, then driving. They acted like the damage and lost goods didn't matter because there was insurance. Absolutely horrible. Took forever to get reimbursed for repairs and lost items.

First day they came and worked a half a day then were called away to another job. Second day they packed things that had a clearly been marked, Do Not Pack. Moved at a glacial pace until 9:00 at night. When they couldn’t fit everything in the van they simply said, sorry we’ve got no more room and drove away leaving our entire linen closet unpacked, trash, 100’s of sheets of packing paper and tape rolls all over the house. There initial quote estimated we had 90 items to be packed. The real number was over 400.

Very unpleasant phone query experience. The person over the phone seems very friendly at first with hello. And then told me that it cost at least few hundreds to find a parking in sf city. And and followed by thank you for calling and hang up immediately. Why don't tell me you probably should consider the cost, instead using an arrogant way to show how ignorant am I to even call and how poor am I.

Moving van parked in a no-parking section of the street, blocking our driveway. Did not contact us beforehand so we could move our car, and then belligerently refused to move their truck when we asked. Had to cancel contractors that were scheduled to work at my house that day because they couldn't access my driveway.

The only moving company that I’ve spoke to so far who refuses to give you an hourly rate, refuses to give you a quote without entering every single detail of your move, won’t give you any kind of generalized information, terrible customer service.
