It’s taken me months to find things they “packed” It’s left me traumatized. Their idea of packing was to put a bunch of stuff in a wardrobe box. I had several lamps broken. The mirror in antique dresser is just gone. There are so many things I never received. I’m missing art work and kiticen things, 3 pairs of prescription glasses. They put items from my kitchen refrigerator & Freezer, in a sealed box. It was days before I found it. What a mess.
Company will not return calls, emails, or letters to address why my final bill was more than twice what I was quoted. I will never use this company again.
Lee, We never received a call, email or letter. We would 100% resolve ANY issues if we could connect with you. Someone keeps hanging up on us every time we call. The "blanket rental" was what drove the cost up, which was in the contract.
Read the fine print - even on the tablet! We had heard such wonderful reviews of Skinner and were shocked when they broke some of our belongings and lost others during our move. I even witnessed one of the movers drop a $600 lamp and break it - to which he said, "just make a claim and we will make it right." I'm not a lawyer, but reading the fine print of the contract, if you don't buy the insurance (which we were not verbally offered) Skinner is only responsible for 60 cents per pound of each individual item they…

Skinner Moving and Storage did my move to storage in July 2023. They were available to answer questions prior to the move. The day before they communicated to me when I could expect them to arrive at my house. The morning of the move they contacted me by phone and text to let me know they were about 30 minutes away from the house. They arrived on time. First everyone was introduced, then we did a quick tour of the house and they all immediately started working. Everything was wrapped and taken to the trucks.
