The initial visit where they came out to provide an estimate went great! The young man was very personable and was very detailed in providing the necessary information about each of our transactions as we would need to move out of one house, store everything for 2 weeks, and move into another house. He did such a good job and the pricing was competitive so we went with Smart Move and the nightmare began. As instructed we called the night before to confirm.

I've waited about 2 months post move to write a review. Pre-move: My experience pre-move was excellent; I booked over the phone and had a great team member help me get squared away. I am also a military member, so I appreciated the discount. Move-day: Movers arrived 35 minutes late and did not communicate anything to me until I called twice to find out where they were. Once they arrived, the movers were friendly and kind, however they had NO sense of urgency to move my items.

I had a terrible experience with Smart Movers and their deceptive payment practices. What they quote you is not what you will actually pay. I paid my invoice on Friday, the day of my move, only to find out that they charged my card again on Saturday without my permission or knowledge. When I confronted them about this unauthorized charge, they gave me a weak excuse, blaming it on a “new employee who was making a lot of mistakes.” That is completely unacceptable when dealing with customers’ payments.

I just moved last week, and I went with this company because of the mostly positive reviews I saw online. Unfortunately, I will not be one of them. First off, when I originally called and spoke with them, I gave them a full inventory of items we needed moving, including asking about the process of them disassembling two bed frames and boxing an 88" and a 70" TV (the latter of which we already head a box for). They told me that with a four-man team, it would be three hours.

A Nightmare Experience After my experience with SmartMove, I feel obligated to warn potential customers about what lies behind their promising estimates. What started as a seemingly professional full-service move turned into a 10-month ordeal that I'm still fighting to resolve. The Packing Disaster SmartMove was hired to pack my entire home, store belongings temporarily, then deliver everything to my new house.

The stars given are for the movers themselves - lovely guys, very helpful, put my bed together - but the organization and scheduling needs serious work at this place. (Dets below) Update-I never received a response/apology/compensation to an email with my complaints. BUT SmartMove contacted me and offered me a small refund only if I change my review to 5-stars. I declined on those terms and think this tactic should cause anyone to seriously consider whether the stars on these reviews are earned.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST AND HAS NO ETHICS! THEY WILL LIE AND STEAL FRON YOU! Micheal came to my house and did an inventory of the items I needed to move. He then gave me an estimate and said it would take three people six hours. When they turned up for the move, they then said more people are needed and I needed to pay $800 more than the estimated price they gave. When i asked asked to speak to someone else, another person from the company called.

DO NOT HIRE!! Hired them through U-Haul to unload my cross country move. They called a half hour before the scheduled time and I told them we would need to start about 15 minutes later as the truck had not yet arrived, they said no problem. The truck showed up 8 minutes after the start time. The movers were scheduled for three hours, at ten till the completion time I told them to just get through what they could in the allotted time.
