We recently moved the short distance from Hamilton to Dundas, Ontario. This was the third moving company we've used in four years, and by far the worst. Here's why: 1. Tardiness. The employees arrived late both on packing and moving day, by 30 minutes on day one and an hour on day two. They didn't get started on moving day until 10 am. Traffic was the excuse on both days. 2. Unprepared. The two packers who arrived did not label anything.

Ive never had such a horrible move!!! I have never done a review on a company before but had to warn anyone who was going to move that they should NOTever hire this company!!!!! This company was over an hour and a half late, One of the workers (of 3 we hired) spent the majority of this move on the phone. The ended up smashing our patio table (which I cleaned up) and flower urn durning the move they argued with us over the value in our driveway and so it was up to smart movers and they offered us $6.00 to replace…

Where to begin? I could not be more disappointed by the services received by Smart Movers and it confuses me as to how such our terrible experience could come from a company with so many glowing reviews. After witnessing confusion for the first hour, my husband finally had to step in and start offering directions. They were not careful with some of our expensive furniture or boxes marked 'fragile'. To me, this would be the bare minimum required for "professional" movers. These two men were slow. Painfully slow.

Please spend your money elsewhere!!! I honestly can't comprehend how they received a 4.2/5 rating. Never in my 6 moves in Canada have I paid over $750 to move. I feel like I have been ripped off by the movers inefficiency and the management of this company. This move began at 10:30 am and finished at 5:45 pm. That is a total of 7+ hours, a whole work day they took. The move was to load the contents of the apartment and deliver to two locations - a storage unit and another condo.

This company is a real scam. The workers are not professional movers and have no experience. They were wearing dress shoes and close to go out for dinner. They had no dolly or wrapping plastic for the furniture. They had no gloves and then they were complainig that it was hard to lift up the furniture. Isnt that that your job?? They charge 90$ for transportation fee, but the catch is that your still paying per hour for the drive plus that transportation fee.

The website looks very professional but don't be fooled! And don't be fooled by positive reviews, check out the spelling and grammar, they wrote these reviews themselves, or had friends and family do it! We recently used Smart Movers to move our 2,600 sq ft. house with only 2 bedrooms of furniture, no living room furniture and about 150 boxes. It took them 17.5 hours!! We were paying by the hour. They brought no lunch so we had to order pizzas to feed them, and we paid them for the time to eat.

I hired smart movers to move a sofa over a balcony. my landlord said it was the easiest way to have moved things in the past. I moved a small bachelor apartment a five minute distance which took 5 hours with me helping the ENTIRE time. The ONE THING i hired them for was to move the sofa and they broke it banging it against the wall hanging for over an hour(brand new sofa). They also broke the shelving in my hutch and lost a side outdoor patio table.

Horrible company. Wish I read some of the reviews before booking them. They arrived late was explained by they company they cannot control traffic. My thought leave earlier. We missed our elevator time because they took forever to load the truck. Their boss called constantly trying to get them to hurry because another truck broke down. But at the same time it slowed our move. They blamed the time because our elevator was small so it took long.
