Great move until the owner accuses me of fabricating a story about a missing ladder. (worth $100 bucks) He throws the contract in my face so he can save $100........ Pathetic business smarts and he lost my recommendations to my realtor and friends..... Smooth Move for $100!
WOW, Paul. I never accused you of anything. I merely pointed out the details/timeline of events on your move. I’m sorry you chose this type of response. I didn't "throw the contract in your face" Paul, I merely pointed out the Terms and Conditions of your move which you signed off on and agreed to.
My mother hired Smooth Movers based on an “all-in” quote of $4,300. During the initial phone call, she was pressured to commit and sign a contract immediately in order to “lock in” that pricing. She was told that if she didn’t sign right away, she would be subject to higher 2026 pricing. Feeling rushed and wanting to secure the quoted rate, she agreed. She was transparent about what she had to move and even asked specifically what would happen if she exceeded 40 boxes.
Hi Rose. THAT (not-so) Smooth Movers isn't us. After a quick Google search, I believe your review is regarding a Smooth Moving Moving Solutions in Rockford, Illinois and Stafford Van Lines out of Thornton, Illinois.
Have used Eric and smooth movers 3x now. After the 1st two moves I would highly recommend them. After this past move I would not. The workers were very kind but I did not have a pleasant experience with the owner. Maybe they have gotten too busy for their business model but either way I will never use again nor recommend. Since the owner aired all the information…. It was unfortunate that he left out the part that I NEVER disputed the charge…. Only his personal handling of things
Hi Brooke. Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you are mad at me for the mutual agreement which didn't turn out in your favor. You chose 2 days for your move: load up (only) on Day 1 @ 8 AM, on Day 2 at 12:30 PM to unload but could not do so because you still didn't have possession to your…

In their own words
This is our second move with smooth movers and they are nothing short of impressive. They are prompt, respectful, careful and so efficient! They have also helped my mom with a few moves and they just never disappoint. I highlight recommend this company to everyone. Thank you Smooth Movers for getting us from West Palm to Naples Florida in record time! This company is truly professional and the owner Eric is responsive and kind.
Actually, Gina, if you include your mom, it's been may mooooooves! Thank you So MUCh for taking the time to share your moving experience. Truly appreciate your trust and business! :-)
We have moved a number of times in other cities / across states but by far the best moving experience was our recent local move with Smooth Movers. Eric was professional, easy to communicate with and quoted us a fair price. The moving team was very friendly and went above and beyond in taking care of our furniture and helping us get settled in our new home.
Thank you, Suzanne. You & your husband put a lot of faith/trust in us. Glad we were able to deliver.
Smooth Movers saved our move-in day. In our search for a local mover to bring the contents of a POD from the PODs West Palm Beach storage location to our new condo, we contacted 10 movers. Eric Ford of Smooth Movers was BY FAR the most competent and thorough of all. While they were not the least expensive, Eric gave me the confidence that his team could handle our move without issue. Just call some local movers - you'll see, none of them give you a comfortable feeling.
Hi Mark. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, the men & I genuinely appreciate it AND the opportunity to "save the day" for you and your wife. I guess it was meant to be and for that, we're grateful. Until next time, stay safe and healthy. Eric Ford
I will start by stating my wife and I have never had a good experience with a moving company. It is unfortunate, but I had little faith in any moving company, especially in terms of honesty, integrity, and ability to not damage our valuable furniture. However, Smooth Movers was a totally different experience. Eric (owner) came to our home to provide an estimate.
Hi Aaron. I am so grateful you took the time to share your opinion but more importantly, the level of service you recieved and your complete satisfaction. Thank you for your trust and business, we truly appreciate it!
