Terrible experience, the only reason they have such high ratings is because the movers ask you to rate as soon as they’re done. Dented my fridge. Refused to pay for it because I didn’t report within 24 hours. They charge you up to the minute and round up. Guys were nice that moved the furniture. The owner joe doesn’t make things right like he says he does. Go with another Moving company. They have lost my business and my friends and families in the future.
Colin/Christina We are very sorry you feel this way. We moved you on 11/25/20. When we left everything was exactly where you wanted it and you were completely satisfied with your move. On 12/15/20 (20 days later) you called and said the front of your refrigerator is damaged.
We used Smooth Moves on Saturday Apr 27. It started off ok, but we did not get what we paid for!! I went with this company because of the reviews I read. I originally spoke to Jaden trying to decide whether we should hire 2 or 3 guys. She told me that 3 guys could move a 3 bedroom house in 2-3 hours. Please see the picture of my notes that I took while on the phone with Jaden. In the end we decided to go with 3 guys to make the move faster. We had a 1690 sq foot house with 3 bedrooms.
THE OWNER HAS SWEPT THIS REVIEW UNDER THE RUG, CLAIMING I WAS NOT A CLIENT! JUST SHOWS THEY MUST HAVE SOME REALLY BAD RECORD KEEPING ! I STAND BY THIS REVIEW: The movers put their used water bottles in my fridge without asking - I would not have known, but I observed them taking the bottles out. Used my bathroom during the worst of the COVID epidemic. Had to sanitize fridge and bathroom after they left. They scuffed the newly painted walls, dragged my brand new mattress over the lawn or other.
CJ R, I can’t find you anywhere on our schedule. You may have the wrong moving company. Several companies try to use part of our name in their advertising. Please call the office at ([phone removed] with your concerns.
I spoke with heather on 2/11 at 10:32am by email and was told that she had a slot for 2 movers on my moving day of 2/16 in the time frame of 11-2 and they will call 1 hour prior to the time when they will be there. Per the email from Heather :"I will need the starting address your ending address and your best contact phone number then I can get you on the schedule." I responded at 10:57 am that it worked perfectly and sent her both addresses and phone number.
We hired Smooth Moves to help us load a ABF U-Pack Trailer. From the very beginning I could tell that they didn't care much about putting our stuff in the truck so that it doesn't shift in transit. We moved many times before and this was the first time that I saw our stuff being jammed in a truck so carelessly. I was still hoping for the best.
My co-worker Gerry and I called to book movers for a commercial job and before I could finish saying my company name, Jaden hung up the phone. We called back and she told us they were not interested in solicitation. We told her we are trying to book movers, and she preceded to give us attitude and question the reality of our job. Be aware if you are booking them for commercial work, they may think you are soliciting them.
Jerry from D&L trucking is the person that called our company not Conner so I don’t understand the 1 star review left by him. I apologize it upset you that we do not partner with other moving/trucking companies on jobs of this kind.

In their own words
Stan, Cary, and Alex were wonderful! They showed up on time, and were nice, professional, careful with our items, and worked quickly! Also it was a great price. Time is money! I highly recommend Smooth Moves and especially Stan, Cary, and Alex. This move would have been a nightmare without them.
Moving sucks... But they made it better! Owner was amazing about communicating, and graciously rescheduled without penalty when Uhaul didn't have a truck. The two movers, Ty & Travon were absolutely amazing!!! They were polite and professional. The two of them has moving down to a science working swiftly and efficiently to load & unload the truck. This included playing Tetris with the furniture to fit everything in the elevator.

This review is long over due! I contacted Joe after contacting other Van lines to help facilitate our relocation from NE Florida to Central Alabama. We had quotes all over the spectrum for pricing. I will say this... Smooth moves was not the least expensive and they weren't the most expensive. My husband is in the transportation industry of moving products and he had an idea of what our costs should run, etc... Joe came to our home and assessed our assets to be moved.
After having about a dozen companies come to our office to do a consultation for our move, I chose to hire Smooth Moves, and I am so glad I did! This company is amazing!!! Stan, Cary, and Devon were the team sent to move us, and they were incredible! These guys went above and beyond, literally making our day seamless.
